A half term break with 15 year old daughter and husband to celebrate a special birthday!
Cosy cottage, comfortable lounge, great beds, large bath.
really close to Booth's so you can stock up on whatever takes your fancy
close enough to lakes for selected walks, coast at Morecombe Bay, and more locally

“Gorgeous, delightful, restored and homely!!”
Reviewed 30 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed at the Bronte School House for a week and had a wonderful time. It is a home from home and we felt very comfortable here. Attention to detail even on the small things. You can tell the owners have put 200% effort into making this cottage what it is today. Cosy living room, fantastic big bath, comfortable beds with crisp cotton bedding and lovely views of the hill sides including grazing sheep. The garden is a beautiful oasis, lovely table and chairs to sit out on a beautiful evening.... You can hear the babbling brook too. Parking isn't an issue as parking spaces within the grounds. The cottage has everything you would need for day to day living. I will be recommending this cottage to all my friends and family and more. Hoping to stay here again. We meet Sandra one of the owners, she is a very kind, friendly lady who goes the extra mile.

“Perfect family holiday cottage”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Thank you for a wonderful holiday - we couldn't have wished for a more beautiful cottage to spend time in, it has been perfect! Our 18 month daughter has thoroughly enjoyed exploring and looking for bunnies in your beautiful garden. Thanks for everything and we will certainly be recommending the cottage to others... you have made such a fantastic job of breathing life back into it.

“Oasis away from home”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This cottage was absolutely delightful. Our hosts were wonderful, engaging and hospitable. They are very knowledgeable of the area, and even leave a notebook detailing hiking trails, restaurants, information about the area, and recommendations. The cottage also comes with a washer and dry racks. I was very impressed with the modifications on the cottage to have the feeling of being in an old house with lots of historical significance while also experiencing the comforts of a prime modern holiday home. I cannot say enough about this place. It was perfect for the 5 of us. The fire from the wood stove was cozy, the garden with its table and chairs was so peaceful, and a perfect place for coffee and breakfast in the morning, and sunsets in the evening. The enormous tub in the bathroom was excellent for soaking after a long walk, and the proximity to the lake district was perfect for what we wanted to do and see. If you love history, and like being in the country with the cows, sheep, great fields, and gardens, this is the place, a true oasis away from home. We would gladly stay here again.

“Beautiful period cottage in a gorgeous setting”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Stayed at the Bronte School House May Spring Bank Holiday for a week with family and three kids (9, 12, 14). A beautifully restored period cottage with real history, with a lovely cottage garden. Really comfy beds (a big issue if you're 6'2"), cosy sitting room with great sofas, chair and fire, and a lovely deep bath. Set in beautiful countryside just a 5 minute drive from Kirkby Lonsdale, on the edge of the Dales and Lakes. For Dales and Lakes novices the cottage had plenty of information to guide us to sights around, with maps, leaflets and books. We walked from the house into the countryside, went up to Ingleton (to walk to the Falls and visit White Scar Caves), went to Hawes, Sedbergh and walked at Ribblehead Viaduct, and in the Lakes travelled to Hawkshead/Esthwaite Water to visit Hilltop and go trout fishing on the lake (nothing beats eating fresh trout you've caught yourself!). If you like your bike, great roads, hills and valleys to climb, near this year's the Tour de France route too.
Would give 4½ stars if we could - minor gripes with no tumble drier (damp, cool climate with lots of outdoor activities means mud!) or dishwasher (idle cityboy who likes cooking).
Would happily go again to Bronte School House.

“Perfect get away in lovely location”

We stayed here on a cold wet windy weekend in November and we could not have had a better time. Beautifully restored cottage, really cosy and comfortable and we wanted for nothing. The owners Sandra and Malik really made us feel at home. Spotless accommodation and lovely comfortable beds. It was our intention to explore the area but to be honest we stayed in all weekend feeding the log burner, reading and chilling out. The perfect weekend away but next time we will stay a full week. Might even go out! Highly recommended.

“Wish we could be there every week.... just perfect!”

A quality property let, with original features, oozing with character and views to die for.
The property provides all the comforts of home, with the added bonus of being steeped in history.
On arrival we were greeted by the owners. The passion expressed by them and their knowledge about the history of the Bronte School House added to the whole experience and we would definitely recommend this totally amazing and relaxing place.
