“Friendly, spacious and spotless”

We stayed in a twin room recently as a stopover on the coast to coast. The owners were very welcoming and very helpful as they immediately let us know dining would need to be booked in the good eateries in town which we hadn't realised, and they offered to ring round and find us a table. They also happily organised our taxi the next day. The room itself was very spacious and looked newly decorated. The room and en suite bathroom were spotless. The room had a large TV and the bathroom had a luxurious monsoon shower which was fantastic after a long walk! There was plenty of choice at breakfast and we were definitely satisfied. Location wise it is only 5 mins walk to the centre of the town. Traveller tip - take the advice of the owners and eat in the Indian restaurant, it's fantastic.

I stayed at Castle View for one night during a recent bike tour. I can recommend it to cyclists - there's secure storage for the bike. The room I had was spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean. There's a good size flat screen telly, coffee and tea in the room and a guest lounge downstairs. The bathroom is just superb - the shower is huge and probably the best one I've seen on my travels and again everything was spotlessly clean.

Above all, I was made to feel welcome from the first minute, with a coffee and tea cake on arrival, Katie is a very friendly and helpful host.

Breakfast was great - I chose the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on home baked bread from the menu.

The B&B is on the high street, not far from the main square with plenty of places to eat and a Co-op nearby, but the room was nice and quiet. For cyclists there are loads of good routes around the town and the Dales are close by.

Castle View is highly recommended.

Katie runs a fantastic, clean, comfy, well appointed bed and breakfast, which was ideal for us and our friends. We needed a b&b to enable us to drive from Lincolnshire to surprise a good friend at her special birthday party in a nearby hamlet. After long journeys the pot of tea and toasted teacakes were perfect! The furnishings and fittings are very good standard and the cleanliness was first rate. We travel extensively and globally for business and leisure and wish others put as much thought and effort into their services as Katie does.

We stayed at Castle View in order to attend a concert at the Accoustic Tea Rooms nearby - where we also received a very warm welcome.
Everything about Castle View is perfect. It is such a pleasant and comfortable home which is clean and well equipped, with a welcome cup of coffee and cup cake on arrival, a tasty breakfast - with the best home made bread I have ever tasted. Our room was very big with a lovely bathroom and hot and powerful shower - what more could anyone want?

It is set in a lovely the location with ample on street parking close by and Katie is a brilliant host - very thoughtful and friendly.

We stayed there only one night but would have liked to stay longer - it is in an ideal place for exploring this part of the country lovely countryside all around.

We spent two nights at Castleview visiting family and enjoying the scenery surrounding the town. The rooms were spacious and immaculately clean and the breakfast was excellent, with lots of options to choose from. Katie was a great host and helped advise us on the best places to eat in the town. We would all thoroughly recommend Castleview to anyone planning a visit to Kirkby Stephen.

We stayed here on 12th August while doing the Coast to Coast and on reflection would say this is one of the best stays of the 18 we had on the walk. Lovely young family Katie, Jonny and Tommy who welcomed us into their home with big smiles and a nice cup of tea and cake for starters after a long day on the trail. The welcome mat was out as Katie had a place for everything by the front door, boots, poles etc Very well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. Good information re eateries etc. and breakfast here was beautiful with a great selection. We would definitely stay here again. Dave and Liz Clark, South Australia

We were walking the coast to cast and arrived here with sore feet and met Katie sitting outside. We were welcomed in for tea and a fresh cupcake. A mat was ready fro our boot, The rooms were almost too clean, and the shower was the best we saw between the Irish and North Sea.
We were given good advise on restaurants and slept well befre a great breakfast. First Class service - thank you.
