The staff (all volunteers) are friendly and welcoming. There are some extremely knowledgeable people there who can tell you the history and future plans of Kirkby Stephen East. Children love seeing the loco's and carriages. Barras the station cat may allow them to stroke him but he is often out and about.
There is a nice little shop which has a mix of items and quite a comprehensive model range.

As always you get a great welcome. Things have been difficult with Covid etc but starting to get back to normal. All the staff and volunteers have worked really hard while sticking to the regulations.
The shed tours are very informative whether you are an expert or just interested.

Thank you so much for your kind review and we are now open to the public again after the easing of lockdown restrictions. We are open on Sundays from 10am - 4pm with shed tours on the half hour. We are not currently running trains as we need to get our locomotives recertified. Please check our facebook and website for the latest news.
