“Great start to the New Year!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2014

Decided to try the North East hospitality for the new year and we weren't disappointed!
First of all the Seaton Lane Inn is easily accessible from the A19 which was a welcome relief after a long and tiring journey in horrible weather.
The room we were allocated was lovely with a big, comfortable bed and lots of nice soft furnishings that made the room far more comfortable than the usual impersonal hotel rooms I use for work.
In addition the bathroom was modern, spotless and had a nice selection of toiletries for personal use.
It was New Year's Eve so we had booked the dinner which was delicious! Our starters (seafood medley and duck parfait) were just the right size to whet the appetite without spoiling the wonderful beef we had for our main, which was cooked to perfection. The cheesecake dessert rounded things off nicely and all of this was washed down with a very nice, and reasonably priced wine.
As the clock struck midnight we were pleasantly surprised to be included in the celebrations with the locals and the owners, Dee and Adrian, made a point of making their way around everyone to give their good wishes.
Having sleeper like a log we were looking forward to our breakfast. Again we couldn't fault it, with an excellent selection of cereals and pastries plus a delicious full English which was very well presented and contained good quality ingredients that set us up for the day nicely.
We could not find fault with our stay, everything was excellent and we will certainly return.
A hidden gem that is definitely worth a visit for a night out or longer.

Stayed for the weekend while visiting family, the rooms were lovely. Very high standard with every amenity to ensure a comfortable stay. Amazing food in the restaurant with the most accommodating staff, nothing was too much bother even with my disabled Mum and small children . Will definitely be staying here again ! Well done to all a truly lovely weekend.

Room Tip: They were all lovely, we had 3 rooms and one disabled room for Mum.

04/01/2014 - We stayed for just one night whilst visiting the grandkids in Seaham. This place is easy to find and very close to Seaham centre. Food - what can I say? Brilliant, much better than expected. That goes for dinner and breakfast too - not often you get a buffet to tuck into and then also a choice from a Breakfast menu!! The eggs benedict were positively superb and, I must not forget this one - a proper cup of tea!! May not sound much but the little things make it - a pot with decent tea in the morning makes the breakfast complete.

OK - now to the staff, always polite and eager to assist, always there when needed but never over-present.. The perfect staffing of a true gem of Seaham!

Would we stay again - Oh yes, next and each time we are visiting Seaham!

We booked dinner, bed and breakfast package. There was a good choice on the dinner menu. Following fish cakes and hot smoked salmon, we both had steaks which came with a huge portion of very fat chips! For once, the steaks were cooked exactly as requested and were delicious. Only downside, no room for pudding! The room was attractively furnished with all the usual bits and bobs as well as being clean and comfortable. A great place to stay, so would definitely go back

Spent a couple of nights at this lovely place and found everything perfect. The room was of decent size and had a nice bathroom. The bed was also very comfortable.
We had problems with charging our telephones as we had forgot to bring adapters! Asked if the reception had any we could borrow, but they had none. But the day after, they called us, and they had bought several! That was very nice of them!

The restaurant had a very nice menu, with a great variety. The breakfast was also very nice, with a menu with hot orders and buffet with cold food.

In the evenings we sat in the nice bar where they had a quiz. Of course we attended too!

The service was very good and I would highly recommend this place!

A friend and I stayed here for one night. The twin room was roomy. nothing spectacular, but comfy. Our room was the very first one, when you entered the accommodation part. The bathroom fan was very loud and annoyed my friend. We ate at the restaurant, which was very good. My chicken, wrapped with bacon and cheese, was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was only 5 minutes or so from the beautiful beach, so I'd stay here again.
