5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2012

came for a meal on saturday after a friend recommened it to me . i had gamberoni in garlic butter and lemon sauce and can honestly say it was the best gamberoni i had ever had my compliments to the chef , my friend had previously visited here and found this dish outstanding and recommended we try this dish which was the special fillet medallion from the board . my partner had this dish and couldn't fault it at all . the service was good and the staff very friendly and the atmosphere was very calming and relaxed. prices were very reasonable and it was money well spent . will visit again .

Went here for a meal with the wife.
The sirloin steak was half the thickness of the ones you buy in asda (3 for £6.00) it was really tough.
The chicken breast had the longest vein running through it.
Everything was barely warm. For this and 3pints and 1glass of wine it cost £56.60 with chips and a small toffee pudding.
Never again...

Stayed here for the weekend earlier this month and found that on one night there was just one other couple and on the other we had the whole place to ourselves. You are actually given a key to the front door and once the staff have gone for the night you are the only people in the building until they return to cook your breakfast. Have visited Seaham for several years now due to my brother moving up there so we know a little bit about the area. Usually we would obviously stay with family but on this occasion he was fully booked due to a surprise party. We initially looked at The East Shore Guest House who have great reviews but on speaking to the owner they were fully booked and he actually recommended Massimos.
The room was very nice and clean but unfortunately blistering hot even with the windows open all night. The staff couldn't turn the radiator off on the landing either so you melted by the time you got into the room but apart from that everything else was great.
Staff very friendly especially Raphaelle? (sorry if i have spelt that incorrectly) who spent ages talking to us.
Also had a meal there on the Saturday evening which was really nice.
The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a good family feel to the place and all the staff are genuinely Italian speaking and do not put on a forced accent like in some restaurants!
Would we go back - yes
Would we go to the restaurant again - yes
All in all we had a good weekend

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have sea view for £5 extra

What a fantastic stay we had, we cannot fault a thing! All of the staff were absolutely fantastic- polite, helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. The room was very comfortable and we both slept so well, the food in the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was wonderful. The hotel was very clean and tidy and extremely well run. We have already booked there for our return stay! Thank you so much Norman and all of your staff for a wonderful stay - we'll see you again in October! Nick and Corinne Clarke

we read the guest book and just about every entry reads ,comfortable rooms, wonderful food and fantastic staff and the reason why all these guests have made the same comments is simply because the rooms are comfy clean and well decorated, the food is indeed fabulous and the staff both british and tai are indeed so friendly. this place is an absolute gem.

Room Tip: up stairs so not suitable for those with mobility problemsi

many thanks for your kind comments which are appreciated by everyone connected with the restaurant. This can be a difficult business to be in, so an appreciative kind word is a nice gesture. very Best wishes, Norman.

My partner and I ate at Pan Din Thai on Friday 19 August (it was my 1st time but his 3rd) - we didn't stay overnight so cannot comment on the rooms, however the 4 course set menu was superb. There was certainly service with a smile and particular thanks goes to our waiter, Title, who couldn't do enough for us and to the owner, Norman, who took the trouble to come to every table to see that all was ok, but, all the staff deserve a pat on the back. 3 of the diners were celebrating birthdays on the night and each one was made to feel extra special. Well done Pan Din Thai - we will definitely come again.
