“Fantastic Italian Experience ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

Visited Massimos as a party of 10 and could not have asked for a better time. Lovely restaurant and everything on the menu was delicious, pizzas were especially good and very reasonably priced. Staff brilliant and the owners seemed like beautiful, genuine people. Will definitely be coming back!

“Friendly staff and good food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

We regularly visit Massimo's, and staff are always friendly, and food good. The menu is fairly limited, although specials are available.
Downstairs, there is a cafe and deli, which. Is open lunchtimes, though not every day, and it's a great place for a coffee or light meal. They also sell fantastic fresh Italian bread in the deli.

“Best in an unpromising area”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2014

Nice dining room, warm welcome, friendly staff and a good view of the sea.The pricees are fair and, usualy the food is well and freshly cooked (apart from the re-heated chips). The menu seems vast but in reality is very limited. There are pages of the inevitable pizza/pasta. Chicken breast is offered in a variety of sauces but, strangely ,every portion is identical and plainly "bought in". Steaks are available Pork, lamb and veal have long disappeared from the "the specials", the board offering which is illegible being faded with age since it was changed. Fish is very good but limited. This could be a nice place with a little imagination from the chef. I have visited as it is convenient and cosy and the alternatives so awful that otherwise I would use the excellent nearby fish and chip shop.

“Good but not perfect”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014

Dined here with family on 15th March 2014 and was pleasantly surprised. Attentive staff and the food was tasty. I had the Maremonti rissoto main at £8.50 which although was delcious only contained two tiger prawns, barely complying with the trade desriptions act 'tiger prawn(s)'. They didn't have the wine we ordered and provided a substitute saying something about the wrong year. One of our party didn't like the wine but there was no offer to change it (£18.95 a bottle).
All in all, a good dining experience with some reservations: £120 for four of us including a drink each.
