“Lovely in every way”

Booked a room for Bank Holiday sunday. Got there quite early but was no problem to go to room.
Rooms are a few steps away from the lovely old building which has restaurant, bar, bar eating area and really pretty garden(with fountain). Room nice and clean, brilliant big shower. The breakfast was very nice with fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, toast etc, all you can eat then a full english or other options. Good service, nice friendly staff. Close to beaches and Sandringham. Would stay there again.

Thank You to all

Last week after visiting the local Sandringham estate, we stopped at the pub as we have many friends who have recommended it to us in the past. Great location given our visit to Sandringham and my partner and I both had the 3 course value meals for 10 pound, which was excellent value. The lemon cheesecake was EXCELLENT, soup was good and the Roast Beef which i had was also very good. The young barman/waiter was very helpful and chatty, recommending the Cheesecake and the Beef! The music playing was a bit dated however overall we had a wonderful lunch. We will be back!!

Considering this is a pub, we were pleased with our stay. You get what you pay for! The room was comfortable and well appointed. The bed was a little small but, the shower was first rate. Breakfast was good, the young lad serving, although very eager to please, probably needs a bit more training. We ate our evening meal in the pub, which was fine although slightly over-priced; which probably explains why it was half empty on a Saturday night.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same!

I needed a bed for the night after Fakenham Races, rather than a "holiday type stay"
My room was comfortable and clean; the shower was powerful; usual facilities - tea/coffee makings, and a (small) TV, but who needs a big one for 1 night?
I found nothing objectionabe about the rooms being a 15-20 yard walk from the main building
Reception was friendly. Bar was reasonably priced; steak and kidney pie for dinner was served promptly and was good. Wine seemed limited - no list was produced; the manager poured me 3x 25cc glasses into a clean carafe (= 1 75cc bottle!). Breakfast was served quickly and was just what I wanted.
Booking by internet on the morning of staying was easy, and quickly confirmed.
Did not see a swimming pool or fitness centre, so no comment.

I am sorry other guests were disappointed, but I did not notice the points people have complained of and can only say I had a pleasant stay.
I would stay there again if I go to Fakenham races again, but it was 48 years since my last visit!

Booked via booking.com, with apparently great reviews! How wrong was i...

Rooms in yard/car park where very basic ( i've stayed in better hostels!), beds uncomfortable, room was tired and very outdated decor wise.

The full english breakfast was just ok, nothing to write home about- mushrooms tasted like tinned versions, sausage was cheap/nasty thing.

In the bar/dinning area, they don't do latte coffee, just filter- come on, how difficult is it to make a latte?? They also charge 50p for all credit/debit transactions under £20- how tight is that??
One example of the bad service- was i ordered some food, waiter/recp guy set it down at table...and told me to get the cutlery over there, and walked off. Given that we where the only ones in the bar/dinning area...it wouldn't have put him out of his way to bring the cutlery in first place with the tea/coffee.

Overall- Disappointed, never again.
Rating - Avoid.

we stayed at ffolkes arms the room was very retro , the tv was ridiculously small , had paper thin walls the bed was horrible the room needed updating and my girlfriend left her make up bag and hair products there accidently the staff have a poor communication with cleaner and dont seem to know whether it was found or not
But... the staff are very friendly and the bathroom/shower is very good

Room Tip: 205 ... just dont !

We have eaten here on a few occasions, so we were expecting a better experience. We ordered three starters as we didn't want a big meal. One had to be sent back as it was not the meal that was ordered. The other two, both chorizo and prawns, had such a horrid taste, they were inedible. The chef, in our opinion, didn't appear to have tasted them. We did inform the waitress who passed our comments to the kitchen. She was very polite and we have no problem at all with her. A trifle was ordered for a pudding which was enormous and seemed to be a throwback from the eighties! I do, however, accept that that may appeal to some people. There was no offer of recompense or maybe a visit from the chef. The bar/restaurant was almost empty so they were clearly not rushed off their feet!
This review is not only for potential customers but also for management. Please take note of these comments and avoid disappointing anymore customers. I am afraid I will not be returning.
