They have a great fish to share dish and lunch is great. If the sun shines the decking outside is just what is needed

Had been 2 times before for Sunday lunch, 1st time lovely, 2nd time not so good so was a bit worried what it would be like.We had to pre order as it was a Sat night and there were 14 of us.
We had our own room with a lovely coal fire which was really nice. We all had starters which everybody really enjoyed, I had soup not sure what flavour it was but was ok, husband had crabcakes which he enjoyed. The platters looked really good. We werent rushed at all for the mains and the service was friendly and very helpful nothing to much trouble. All the main courses
came out together and were hot. I had the spaghetti carbonara, garlic bread and salad which
was yummy 1 of the best I've eaten. Husband had the pork dish which he really liked not a scrap
left. The only 1 thing which we didn'nt enjoy were the onion rings which came with the burgers
were far to greasy. But overall we really enjoyed the food and would return.

We enjoyed an afternoon chat and cup of tea, in an informal dining area. We then walked about enjoying the ambience of the old building.

Was really looking forward to eating here but was very disappointed.

Went on Friday evening the place was reasonably busy but there was no ambiance about the place.

We were put in a room with other diners but you could all here each other's conversations as no background music.

I ordered the pan fried mackerel with couscous and mint dressing which I was looking forward to thinking it would be a whole pan fried mackerel, but what I recived was vacuumed packed smoked mackerel fillets as you buy in tesco plonked on top of some couscous the mint dressing was all over the food, it was not pleasant. I left most of the meal but was not asked at any time when the waiter took it away was my food ok!

Waiter dropped a jar of something on the floor as going into the kitchen and walked past it several times before another waitress picked it up, could of caused an accident.

Very disappointing evening!

Three of us for dinner last night. Soup to start, Mackerel on veg cous cous; flat bread and humus to start, tomato and mozzarella risotto, and me, well octopus tempura to start, haloumi orange and pomegranate as main, chocolate tart with salted caramel brittle and home made apple and blackberry ice cream - all of which was scrummy yummy. Service excellent/ambiance relaxed, comfortable and friendly: food 5/5, ambiance 5/5, service 5/5 - we even got a visit to the cellars afterwards
