We stopped off here for an evening meal.

The hotel / bar looked pleasant enough, but the barman was too busy talking with the only two other people there to acknowledge our arrival.

I excused myself and interrupted their conversation to ask for a pint of beer served in a particular way, to which he was non responsive. He then said he was "Too Busy" to make my 86 year old mother a cup of coffee.

The beer was in poor condition, there was a terrible atmosphere, so we left and ate elsewhere.

They need to sack the miserable, ignorant, and lazy barman as it is unlikely they will get much return business while he is still there.

Stayed at the Red Cat for a over night stay with friends on the 31st July. what a place wonderful people peter the owner could not do enough. Gave us a great welcome, we checked in early and it was not a problem with him. Food 1st Class and plenty of it Breakfast also superb filled us up until the afternoon. The room's were great size and clean all round even the bathroom and the restaurant. This place is worth staying I would recommend this to any one I should know stayed in many hotels and bed and breakfast around the world. We will be going back and I hope for many times in the future a credit to Norfolk AGAIN TOPS. Colin

Room Tip: just ask the owner

I cannot recommend the Red Cat highly enough! The food is excellent, the hospitality welcoming and the accommodation is lovely. Our room (2) was spacious with an enormous bed and an equally large en suite. The room was well appointed with tv, and hospitality tray, plenty of fresh towels and a nice view over the garden.
The decor is very homely and in keeping with the age of the building (Victorian railway hotel); the panelled breakfast room is particularly pleasant.
If you want to stay somewhere with good home cooking, and a welcoming atmosphere - then this is the place for you and your dog!

We stayed one week ago for a long weekend. Beautiful part of Norfolk and within easy driving distance of the north Norfolk coast. The Red Cat is in a really nice and peaceful location, right next to open fields and countryside, very tranquil. The pub has been redecorated and upgraded compared to a few years ago and is very clean and comfortable. Peter and Victoria are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are very flexible and really do cater for your needs. The rooms are very nice, the breakfast is tasty and the beer is excellent. The price is very reasonable - you will find it hard to beat for such quality. We will return !!

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet - you really do not notice that there is a pub downstairs.

The Premier Inn was booked up so I looked around for a cheap hotel for a couple of days whilst working at QEH in Kings Lynn. At £40 a night for bed and breakfast I was not expecting much, all rooms are ensuite to my surprise and are clean and comfortable, don't expect the Ritz but I would say if you paid £70 you still would not feel disapointed, the breakfast is great and the evening meals are proper home cooked food. It's nice and quite just what you want when away on business. I have now stayed here for 3 weeks and I will be staying more while I work locally, this is a rare find today a good honest value Hotel/B&B that has friendly staff and ignore the others who say it's outdated, it's better than the Best Westerns I have stayed in and I spend 5 nights a week in hotels so I know a thing or two about them, give it a try and you will be surprised.
Wifi is free and a reasonable speed in all rooms and public areas.

Room Tip: Room 8 is the best single room, but 7 and 9 are good too.

We had cause to stay twice this summer in this pleasant country inn and we were not disappointed by the welcome. The hotel is situated in a quiet corner of North Wootton with views over farmland and salt marsh to the Wash. The rooms are well maintained, clean and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for Peter and Victoria; who made sure our stay was enjoyable. We had our own pass key so that we could come and go as we pleased. The bar and menu have plenty of choice; the food is well presented and sufficient in quality and quantity. The cellar can probably boast the best well kept ales in Norfolk if not in the UK - this is qualified by the regulars!

Room Tip: Note this is a farming area and at times subject to early morning farm traffic - only noticeable if...
