We booked the Grange for my husband's 40th birthday weekend, invited 12 friends and had the most wonderful weekend! We wanted to do something different so secretly hired Sean at grey goose archery to come over Saturday morning and train us all to fire a bow and arrow, which everyone loved.
We went formal for Saturday night dinner, with the boys in suit and ladies in evening dressses (with slippers as the house has a no outdoor shoes policy, which we loved! No sore feet! ) we hired chef Keith (another surprise for our guests) to come and cook us, what turned out to be a wonderful 3 course meal that everyone loved, with Jen who was our waitress for the night, serving us our drinks in the front sitting room, then inviting us to the dinning room for dinner. Serving and clearing away each course as well as doing all the washing up afterwards!
The dinning room is lovely and the table suited our party of 14 really comfortably, you could fit 16 around the table with a bit of a squeeze!
The house is set out really well, all rooms are comfortable and the house is very clean and well maintained.
There is a good games room on the 1st floor equipped with pool table, table tennis football table, Wii, darts board and loads of board games.
7 good sized bedrooms and a massive master suite. All rooms except the one down stairs have ensuites-the downstairs bedroom is close to the downstairs toilet/ shower room.
The cinema room is ideally situated next to the massive kitchen that also seats 14 people along 2 large tables. The kitchen has eveything you could possible need to cook for lots of people, The only thing that would have made it better was if the aga range in the kitchen worked!
The house is nice and warm -sometimes too hot!
The grounds and outside area is very good although we spent most of the time chilling inside the house. Summer time would be lovely! You can walk out of the garden and up to the river, where there is a footpath that runs along side it.
A wonderful house for a family or friends gathering.
The location of The Grange Manor House for our December family celebration was absolutely perfect. Our family are spread around the world (Hong Kong, Italy, France, north and south UK) and all to be able to get together for a few days was very special. The house was perfect in size, amenities, and location for access for all travelling guests. The house is well maintained, well stocked for large family catering and for a winter rental it was warm and cosy with temperatures below freezing outside. Frankly, we just didn't want to go out but those gallant enough did venture to the beach. Brrrr! The booking arrangements went smoothly and the housekeeping and greeting were spot on. Thank you for giving us a wonderful memorable weekend. We would love to come back.
Myself and friends stayed at the grange manor house this weekend gone and I have to say the place was amazing, every single bed room could have been a master suite (although being the lucky person that was able to stay in the master suite I must say this room was out of this world). The house was so well equipped with everything you can think of, if you wanted to back a cake in the kitchen you would of had all of the appliances to allow you to do that, not that we did. The cinema room was great for just relaxing in. the grounds were well maintained and the house spotlessly clean. Dawn the house manager was great at showing us around and showing us all the facilities from tennis to karaoke (regrettably we did not use either). I wish we had utilised the house better as the piano room, library, formal dining room and games room were untouched, but for a big friendly house to enjoy the company of friends it was perfect.
Thank you Elaine and team.
I booked this for my sister's hen and the house was perfect. It was even nicer than it looks in the photographs and everybody loved it. It was very easy to deal with Elaine and the managers and everything ran very smoothly. I'm already trying to think of another occasion to book it for!
Just returned from a lovely stay at The Grange Manor House. So much space and things to do. The kitchen is huge and all amenities catered for. Kids loved the tree swing and the tennis, as well as all the activities in the games room. The built in projector in the entertainment lounge meant that we could watch satellite TV, DVDs and play a variety of WII games. Bedrooms are huge with own bathrooms. Very clean too. Would recommend this house for groups or family get togethers.
We have returned from our stay, which we enjoyed very much, the house is huge and plenty of things to do, from playing tennis on the court, to badminton, boules, cricket, and BBQs, lovely garden to sit in the evening, indoors you have a games room with darts, pool, table tennis and the main front room has Wii, projector to watch Tele, dvds etc, kitchen was stocked with everything you needed, we didn't use the formal dining room, we just looked at it, as it was lovely just to look at lol, would have been nice to find out a bit more about the history of the place, as Google didn't bring up very much, other than Lord Evershed lived there, he was the master of the rolls and was the second highest magistrate in the country, my sister and nephew stayed in the top part of the house and encountered a few weird things, cupboard open a few times, and some odd bangs, so they shared the same room a couple of times and weirdly enough, she was woken at 0330am a couple of mornings and so was I, so no idea what significance that was, if I had any negative points, would have been nice to have bigger TVs in the first two sitting rooms as not everyone wanted to play the Wii and sing karaoke, just gives large differing groups a choice of a relaxing evening, we had a lovely relaxing stay, thankyou for letting us have it as our family home for a few days
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We had a full house and there was still plenty of room for everyone to eat together .The children spent most of their time outside in the fabulous garden. Due to the great weather we had a barbecue and it was big enough to cater for all of us. The beautiful house made our visit feel really special.
