“One of The Best”

I have previously stayed at another property in the same road, but the Stuart House Hotel proved to be a superior choice this year. It is down a wide gravel drive with ample secluded parking by the hotel's garden. The staff we met were welcoming, professional in their manner and obliging in all respects. It was a surprise to have a different waitress at breakfast on each of the four mornings we were there, but the cooked breakfasts were excellent, served in generous portions, served hot and promptly. The help-yourself continental breakfast selection would have benefited from having any of the following additions : muesli, skimmed milk, croissants or danish pastries, but coffee and tea were provided in ample quantities. Our room had a large writing desk and two comfortable armchairs, when quite often a "double" room has only one chair. The over-the-bath shower was modern and very efficient: be careful to moderate the temperature carefully, as the hot water is very hot indeed. Sleep might be affected by any footsteps or cars crunching on the gravel outside your window, and by the lack of air-conditioning on a warm night, but our room had a portable fan which would have given us cooler air. The location is perfect for a leisurely and very pretty stroll through the Walks park into town : the quickest route is to turn right out of the drive, keep bearing right, head for the green space ahead of you, then turn left along the broad path to the town centre. You can be in the town centre after a very pleasant ten-fifteen minute stroll. The room rates are very reasonable.I would certainly recommend the hotel to any visitor to King's Lynn.

Only stayed one night and did not have time to try the restaurant, but enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was lovely and the room was clean and comfortable (if slightly on the small side).
Staff were very helpful, polite and eager to please. We will stay there again next time we need to be in Kings Lynn.

BTW It is located right next to a big green space/park (called 'The Walks') and it is only a short walk to the town/shops/restaurants and the old quay.

I arrived here last year for a friends wedding and was not disappointed at all. The room, although only a single, was very well presented and the bathroom, with a great power shower, was very clean indeed which is a must for me.
It has a lovely long driveway which made for a quieter overall feeling as there was no traffic to hear even with the windows open at night.
The full English breakfast was just as it should be but I cannot vouch for other mealtimes as I didn't eat there other than at breakfast.
An added bonus (for me anyway!) was the Real Ale festival being held along with a good band, was a truly fab way to end my stay in Kings Lynn.
Would love to stay there again even if the price is a little above my budget.

We stayed in the lodge for a night and I have to say it was brilliant, the rooms were clean, modern facilities, tea and coffee, very comfy bed and a very nice nights sleep, very bright, reasonable prices as we booked on the night, breakfast was quality, Servise was fantastic, very helpful staff, good location. Overall a fantastic experience, I would certainly recommend and come again! Thank you Stuart House for a lovely stay :) :)

Booked in by the office for overnight stay prior to early meeting in KL. Was a bit concerned when I got to reception as the ground floor is rather dated and dark. Having said that the lady on reception was helpful and efficient. My room was very small, but well kitted out and modernised, in contrast to the ground floor decor. Nice bathroom with all the necessary bits and pieces.
Good nights sleep as it is very quiet and the bed was good too.
We were encouraged to stay at the hotel for dinner but chose to wander into town to eat (see review of the Bengal Brasserie)...pleased that we did as sitting in the dining room the next morning was a bit depressing. The dining room was not welcoming, dark (again), unattractive furniture. Breakfast was ok but only offered 1 cup of coffee as the waitress disappeared. Given the choice I would stay at the Knights Hill, however the hotel was ok.

Room Tip: rooms over looking the garden were very quiet.

Loved this hotel. Service was great (bar, chamber maids, and reception staff), room was lovely (tastefully decorated with a sunken ensuite), beds very comfortable (duvets AND flat sheets), location was quiet (no street noise or other guests disturbing our sleep), dinner was hot and flavourful, and reasonably priced, breakfast (and included with our booking) was a good variety of a choice of cereals, yogurts, fruit, and the full English breakfast. We've done a lot of travelling and this hotel most certainly scored a ten in our log of journeys! My only criticism is that the shower lacked a shower caddy or shelf to place your shampoo, soap, etc. If you're looking for a quaint and classy alternative to the main stream hotel chains this is a perfect option.

Room Tip: All suites have been tastefully redone. #10 is rather small but looks onto a private courtyard. Th...

I agree with all the comments about the service - excellent. All the staff were friendly and proactive. My double room was small but clean and well kitted.

Although the breakfast was great my only complaint relates to the meal I had in the evening, or the price of it. The Stuart Hotel is radically overpriced for what it is offering. London prices for average pub food was a real let down. They either need to up their culinary game or slash their prices.

I recommend staying there but suggest finding somewhere else to have a dinner
