“Steeped in history”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

It's where their tourist information board is. Nice building, steeped in history. Currently, they have an exhibition on Fanny Burney which is worth seeing. Also in the evenings, there is a wonderful light show.

“Handsome building”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

This is a really attractive old building standing on the South Quay. Its in every photo of the town and is worth a look. It is facing the river and the water comes up on 2 sides with some attractive modern art seagulls adorning floating bouys. This is the centre of tourist info and the staff were v helpful. There was an exhibition which had a fee but just going into the building and seeing the interior is enough. Its also very pleasant to sit around the water or on the steps and gaze up at the exterior. This area of kings lynn has been greatly developed with a lot of the wharf buildings now being trendy waterfront bars, very pleasant day out.

“Mandatory for the visitor”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

This is located near the river in the historic part of Kings Lynn on Purfleet Quay. Downstairs is the tourist centre. Upstairs is a small, but interesting, museum dealing, mainly, with the Georgian period, when Kings Lynn was a far wealthier and important town than today. Outside Custom House is a statue of Capt George Vancouver the Kings Lynn born English naval officer, best known for his 1791–95 expedition, which explored and charted North America's north west Pacific Coast regions. The island of Vancouver is named after him. Entry is only £1.00

“Convient to centre”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

The custom house is close to the centre of the town and right at the rivers edge. It houses the tourist information centre and an exhibition. The girl there was very helpful and a good place to start your visit to the town.
