We stayed here late September for the weekend, to attend the Brisca Stock Car World Final, being held at the nearby race track
Old Rectory is a lovely building with lovely gardens, with a quaintness about it, even having a housekeeper, a short walk and you are in King's Lynn centre
Rooms are tastefully decorated and very spacious, clean and comfortable, hot breakfast was cooked to order, with a variety of choice, all the staff and Clive were very friendly and helpful
Excellent value, would certainly recommend to anyone wanting a nice place to stay

Myself and a couple of friends we looking to visit the Norfolk and Cambridgeshire border area and I had researched at least 60 bed and breakfasts in the area. There were some excellent ones available but they were well over the £100 per night bracket. Then I came across the Old Rectory perched in a nice quiet back water of ancient Kings Lynn. At £55 for a single and £65 for a double booking it seemed excellent value for money. On arrival we were met by the owner Clive and shown around both the rooms which were simply gorgeous and oozed quality and charm in equal measure. Both rooms were similar with mine having generous proportions indeed. I loved the Georgian styling with high ceiling, roman blinds, large sash windows on suite bathroom with shower and sink. Although mine was a single booking I had a full king size bed al to myself. The bed was very comfortable with towels for two people and tea making facilities, chocolate mints, hair dryer, flat screen TV, basically a very nice home from home and I an d my friends loved it. We first tried he Voujon Indian restaurant and we were all very impressed indeed with the quality and variety of the dishes available. The food was excellent and I highly recommend it. Soon after we visited the London Porter House pub which out of all the other pubs close by it seemed the best choice. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with a choice of toast tea coffee cereals etc. and followed by a lovely full English breakfast. We all really enjoyed our stay at The Old Rectory and highly commend it. Whilst staying here you get a taste of what it would be like to own a Georgian house of distinction and I shall return if I am ever in this area again. Well done to the owner Clive who was a polite host. It represents excellent value for money and you would be hard pushed to get more for less. Ignore those heartless bland corporate hotels and come here instead.

We spent a week here as our base to explore Norfolk and its coast line. There are 5 gorgeous ensuite rooms in this quaint warm, friendly, detached Georgian home, where we were looked after by Clive and his staff. The rooms were serviced every day and Cilve was a useful source of local information. A useful selection of breakfast chioces from fuit, yogurts to a full English. There is ample parking and cycle storage. We stayed as a couple but there were families there with small children to. We throughy recommend this as a central base. Old kings Lynn is a 15 minute walk away, with access to the pedestrian ferry, Lynn Museum and modern kings Lynn. It's shops and environment isn't the best but old Kings Lynn is an amazing contrast and it is here where you will find the better quality (non fast food) restaurants. Next door is a small non chained hotel which is good for meals and a drink should you wish. There is a wonderful and relaxing park 5 minutes away, which has benefitted from lottery funding. It is ideal for children and adults alike. Enjoy.

Only the one night stay for bed and breakfast at The Old Rectory in a twin room. The room was a good size with plenty of space for panniers, kit and bits carried by two cyclists. With freeview tv, tea and coffee, kettle, biscuits, shower room and built in wardrobe , table and chair there was plenty of mod cons. All to a very high standard. There was also safe and secure cycle storage for our bikes which was a big bonus and a reason for the booking. Our host Clive made arrangements for the collection of keys as we were to arrive whilst he was out and all went to plan. Indeed we did not meet our host until breakfast the next day, which was fine as everything was provided for in advance. Breakfast was excellent with plenty on offer. Cereals, juices, toast, jams, hot and cold beverages and plenty of local info on directions for our cycle trip ahead. Very helpful. All the furnisihings are very plush and it really is worth the extra few pounds to stay here.
Location wise The Old Rectory is just off the London Road in a very peaceful, residential road and a short walk, through a park - 15 mins later you are in the centre of town. All in all a great find and a place to stay as and when travels take you to Kings Lynn.

Room Tip: The twin room is excellent, situated at the top of the house. Nice and quiet.

Although The Old Rectory is a very old building it has been very tastefully and sympathetically refurbished. Everything has a light ,modern and clean feel to it whilst still retaining a lot of character. We stayed for weekend as a group of seven friends occupying four rooms. We had no issues with any of the rooms and were completely satisfied with accomodation.Breakfast was a very easy going experience with nothing being too much trouble. The owner/waiter was very good with reccomendations for places to visit and where best to dine etc. In all respects a very pleasant stay. Will definately be returning.

We have stayed in this B&B a few times. Previously our experience was good. The place is clean and the breakfast was very good. The rooms are spacious and it is well situated. This year (2012) however we had an extremely bad experience. We had booked well in advance and received an email confirming our booking. We also telephone the day before we were scheduled to arrive. Upon arrival, the host informed us that he had no rooms. We showed him our evidence of booking and his comments were to the effect that "if" they had made a mistake he was sorry but there was nothing he could do about it. He made what seemed to us to be half-hearted attempts to find us another room elsewhere. Needless to say, we would not stay here again and would not recommend it to our friends. We were in fact forced to take another train journey the same day where our next host was happy to accommodate us.
