Owner description: The original and still the best. Set in the heart of Britain's largest lowland pine forest, our first ever course is centred around 30 miles of bike and walking trails from which to explore 50,000 acres of forest. And the mother of all our courses features our classic Tree Top Adventure, Forest Segways and Tree Top Junior. Our Tree Top Adventure features a NEW Tarzan Swing, back-to-back black crossings (don't worry, they're optional!) and an Alpine zip (that goes from tree to tree). Now that's worth shouting from the tree tops! And the adventure does not need to stop there. You can get off the beaten track and enjoy our forest adventure with Go Ape Forest Segway - an epic experience with a down to earth twist. And Thetford Forest is also home to our Tree Top Junior Adventure for Mini Tarzans. Release your little monkeys onto a Go Ape course designed for them. No one loves adventure more than kids!

25 of us went to the Forest for the day from Center Parcs, and had a fantastic time!

6 people went to Go Ape and had a fantastic time! At £30 for 2-3hours for Go Ape, it is excellent value for money. You are shown all the safety bits (instructions are clear) and you then go around the track. There are 5 different 'courses' and you go round 1 at a time, so if you are scared (as one of our group was), you can leave at any time. Each course ends with a zip wire

The course was challenging and exciting, with varying difficulty levels, and everyone was in hysterics! Visitors can follow the trail the whole way.

Advice to those thinking about Go Ape - wear old shoes, long trousers (and tuck socks into trousers) and an old hoody! Down the zip wire you have no control over how you will land, and you end up with bark everywhere (including in underwear!!!)

9 of us did the Segway Course and cannot fault the experience! I had personally done a segway course elsewhere (Segrally, Snetterton Circuit Norfolk) and in comparison this is 100 times better. It was a properly built course and we were able to go off on our own.

We are all planning on visiting Go Ape again soon (and will swap, so those who did Segway will try Go Ape and vice versa). It really was fantastic!!!!!

The only downside was the parking charge (£1.90 an hour or £10 all day). Other than that, the activities were fantastic, there was lots to do for our family who came to watch (a cafe, a small restaurant, an ice cream shop, a climbing wall for children at £3, pony rides at £12, BBQ stands to hire).

I cannot recommend this enough. A fantastic day that we will all remember for a long time.

We went on go ape segways at Moors Valley Country Park but were very disappointed. Segways are fantastic fun and I would recommend trying them to anyone (we went for my mum's 67th birthday and she loved it) but don't do it at go ape! They have groups of up to 9 people and if each one takes 5 minutes to go through the tutorial of getting on and driving, you can imagine how much of your hour is eaten up by either waiting your turn or going round and round on the baby practice track. 35 minutes into our precious hour we were off around the park but had to take it quite slowly due to all the other visitors on foot or bikes. Our instructor kept stopping us to remind us of the rules etc...we were all adults so I hardly think this was necessary. Eventually he took us off of slow mode and our segways were able to go a little faster but we weren't allowed to test this much. At the end of the hour precisely we were back at the start handing our segways back, waste of £25 if you ask me!
We have since been on Segways at Upton Park with Dorset Segways which was a brilliant experience. The instructor was a bit too chatty but other than that it was great. Only 4 segways at a time so orientation took only about 10 minutes and were were able to go over much more interesting terrain in the park and then really let them go in the car park at the end. The instructor was much less strict which made the whole experience much more fun. They also rent the segways out for an excellent price for parties, weddings etc so well worth a look!

The three of us went to the Segway rallying as part of my sons birthday. Our guide was excellent (Dave?) - great tutor, great fun and an incredible memory for all the names in the group! We started off with an overview and training which even for those of us who have ridden Segways before, was informative.
Then it was off into the forest - 4 course to have a go at, including the Extreme! This was great fun and glad Dave had told us how to ride the dips properly. After 30 mins or so on these, it was off into the Forest - single file following Dave as he took us on a tour, before we arrived back at the camp 'in formation'.
We had a great time here - and the rain and mud only made it even more fun.
If you have time, would look round the other parts to Thetford Visitor Centre - it's excellent.
Lastly - would advise book in advance on the Go Ape website - this is very popular

Considering our ages, 51-62 ie we are not as subtle as we once were! we all had a superb day out at Go Ape, had no difficulty doing the course, loved every minute of it and would all recommend it to anyone. Our friend is not overly keen on heights but agreed, that once in her harness and attached by two safety wires, she felt completely safe and forgot she was up in the trees and loved the challenge of the walkways and zip wires.

You are given very thorough training before you are let onto the course and are supervised closely on the 'training' walk wire and zip wire to make sure you have understood the safety aspects and to sort out any queries you might have. All the Go Ape staff we dealt with were very friendly, cheerful and helpful and clearly wanted you to have a super time.

If, after the safety training and training walk/zip wire you feel 'Go Ape' isn't for you, you can leave and get a full refund, so there is no pressure to do the course if you really are not happy about doing it. All of us had a few nerves but knew once we got going we would be fine and we were.

It took us about 2 1/2 hrs to do the course - we did stop to take a lot of photos mind you - but you need to allow a minimum of 2 hours I'd say and it wasn't a busy day when we went.

The course is very varied, each walkway challenge clearly explained by diagrams - or you can just launch yourself off and do it your way! You do not have to do the second big cargo net jump if you don't want to, there is an alternative less hairy route!

We all loved it from start to finish and felt very pleased with ourselves for having done it.

Only advice I'd give, make sure your trouser legs are tucked into your socks to prevent the bark chips getting into them when you land after the zip wires and wear a shirt that tucks into your waist band securely, otherwise you might find bits of bark chips in places you never thought they could get!

We rounded off the day by taking out the segways - done by Go Ape - what a hoot! such fun, really recommend those to everyone! They are so easy to operate, give a lovely feeling of speed - althought you are infact going very slowly and you are taken to 3 different tracks and let loose, then follow the guide through the forest on a long run back to the start. It takes an hour. Again you are given very good training before you start. Same rule as for Go Ape, if you really don't like once you've done the training you can opt out and get a refund.

We all can't wait to go back to Thetford Go Ape!!
