“American theme restuarant with huge portions!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

We were looking for a pub lunch on our way up to Kings Lynn and stopped at this restaurant as we originally thought it was a pub ( I think it is a converted pub). I went in to look at the menu and noted it was an American steakhouse but they did do snacks in the way of jacket potatoes. My wife joined me and we were shown to our table and handed a menu. Originally we were just going to have a snack but the menu was so tempting I had a steak cooked in a southern fried sauce and my wife ordered a pulled pork burger. Both were served with delicious hand cut chips and both meals were very tasty - but huge portions so make sure you are hungry if you decide to visit!! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as we were made very welcome and the food very good, and would definitely visit this restaurant again if in the area

“Real American Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

Went along with my wife and brother in law for a meal on Saturday evening, we had not booked a table and the restaurant was full, however the very charming staff found us a table and we were able to enjoy an authentic American meal in very pleasant surroundings.

The food was lovely, hand made burgers with hand cut chips or sweet potato chips were absolutely divine, as were the steaks. Portions very generous and very reasonably priced.

Whilst the décor is a little plain at the moment, I think as the ownership is relatively new, this will continue to improve over time.

What is special about this place is that the staff are genuinely friendly and give heartfelt service whilst having a bit of friendly banter with the customers.

Well done Holy Smoke, keep up the good work and we will definitely be back soon.

“Finally tried this restaurant......”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

As usual we stopped here on the off chance as we seem to do with many of our reviews, which is probably a good way. Firstly the welcome was lacklustre there wasn't any atmosphere in the place. The food was standard but the chips with skin on were tasty. Sadly we both felt uncomfortable at the table with the seats not allowing us to sit upto the table, they are too low. We both assumed an American theme for the decor but found it drab and uninviting. With many of the staff hovering at the bar,not once after receiving our meal were we asked if everything was ok. Probably won't be returning.

“A great find on the A134”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

We were thrilled to find this restaurant whilst travelling up the A134 to Norfolk as we wanted something a bit different to a pub meal.

There were already a few tables taken despite it being very early on a Tuesday evening but we were served promptly and the food was very tasty - the potato skins were delicious!!

Would definitely visit again if we were passing the area.

“A small slice of the real US suffolk side!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Lost and hungry on route to Center Park couldn't believe our luck on finding this gem. An authentic american roadside steak house. Managed and run by Americans. Having traveled extensively in the US we were delighted to find sweet potato fries and stateside style home made coleslaw. Our steaks were fabulous - like a medium rare and this was the best T bone I had tasted for ever. If you like ribs - try these here. These were the real McCoy (proper sized and not the excuse of a rack most English restaurants serve) the BBQ sauce was delicious. My husband ate a plate of hot wings as a starter which he rated 10/10. Spoilt for choice on dessert. Chose a chocolate layered cake and a banoffee pie. We loved the old style pictures of USA gone by and the piped rock music. Sad we live so far away as would make this place my local eatery. Good job as I think my wast band just might expand way too much! Rolled out the door after coffee. We will return.
