The tower itself is exceptional. The views are even better. And the service is unmatched.
I've traveled the world over and this is definitely one of the best spots i've ever encountered.
We had 12 of us, 6 adults and 6 children. All were extremely comfortable in the spacious rooms and modern bathrooms and spacious grounds for exploring.

My brother & I booked Fenton Tower for my parents 70th birthdays and I do not think we could have succeeded any better with our decision. If you are in doubt about booking to come here - do not be, it is absolutely wonderful! Full of character, refurbished to an exceptional standard add the service and food over our weekend was first class. To top it off, we even had wonderful weather and it's a lovely part of Scotland! As Carmichaels too, we did not realise the symbolism, but it used to belong to our clan and if you like golf, you have also come to the right place too - lots of books and memorabilia around. It's set in lovely ground, with friendly horses and a pond with duck & geese to keep you entertained, and a helipad should you need it:) Shows you who sometimes stays here! Alan, and staff are very discreet, but really, cannot do enough for you. Steeped in history and just a wonderful place to have stayed, that cannot fail to create memories. DO IT - BOOK UP :)

Room Tip: All rooms wonderful. No access that I was aware of for those that could not climb stairs however...

Our family had a fantastic time over the last weekend. Alan & his staff looked after us very well. The food is very good indeed, the bedrooms very spacious . The building has been renvated from a ruin to a very high standard.
If you want somewhere special & different this is the place. Would recommend.

Room Tip: All Bedrooms are up 2 Spiral Staircases, could be a little difficult to negoiate if elderly.

Wonderful facility. Great staff. Great location. Couldn't have been better!

Our family of six adults had a great time. Very comfortable, modern accommodations. Alan, the Manager is a great resource. Welcoming, friendly and efficient. Whatever you would like he will make happen. Alan did a great job of organizing all the activities we asked for - golf, distillery tour, fly fishing, bicycle rentals, Fringe tickets, dinner reservations, shooting, cars and drivers.

Breakfast prepared by Tony each morning (whenever requested) was terrific. We had two catered dinners at the Castle, using the caterers arranged by Alan. The food and service were all great. The dining room has a truly festive atmosphere that made staying in for the evenings a lot of fun.

Each bedroom is unique and comfortable. The views from the top floor extend to Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth. Bottles of Glenkinchie Scotch and Edinburgh Gin in each room are a very nice touch, as is the Famous Grouse in the library. The entertainment system, including sat. tv and blue ray library was perfect for a couple of evenings at home. North Berwick and its many golf courses and sea bird centre are very close. Edinburgh is about a 40 minute drive away.

Room Tip: Each room is unique. One has to walk upstairs to the bedrooms. Its not difficult, but there is no...

Was at a 30th wedding anniversary at the Fenton Tower.
Food and service was superb, location is a little out of the way but worth visiting, an amazing place.
I believe the tower has been renovated over the last few years and it has been money well spent , a stunning place.

We Renewed our marriage vows at Fenton Tower, and the occasion proved as perfect as our wedding 35 years ago. The castle is just awesome, the grounds just beautiful. History seeps from every nook, cranny and spiral staircase, yet the facilities are bang up to date which means that comfort is never compromised. But it is manager Alan and his team who give Fenton Tower real heart and soul. Alan is the perfect host. Every request was met with a ‘can do’ smile, his attention to detail was thorough, and his catering and golfing contacts proved first class. Over the course of our week in this picturesque corner of Scotland Alan became a very good friend to all in our party of nine and he and his team are the reason we’ve made a new vow – to return! I have left my heart there so have to go back. Alan, you and the team were/are absolutely amazing, so a great big THANKYOU.

Room Tip: All the suites are amazing, but we had the Carmichael suite with triple aspect views over the stunni...

Our expectations were far exceeded by our stay at Fenton Tower. The accommodations are the finest you will find anywhere...every detail was perfect. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are luxurious. The staff was attentive to all the various needs of our large family...from the children to the adults. All the meals were superior without any need for us to go anywhere else to eat. In fact, after each daily adventure we could not wait to get back to 'our' Scottish castle. The views of the countryside were sublime. If you want to see this area of Scotland, there is not a better place to stay. It is like living in your own country manor.

A unique Scottish Castle . . . Fenton Tower is a magnificent, fortified; 16th Century tower located 18 miles East of Edinburgh near the coastal town of North Berwick. The castle's location was originally chosen in the 11th Century because it afforded panoramic views in all directions and has had many distinguished visitors, among them being King James VI of Scotland (son of Mary Queen of Scots and Lord Darnley) who took refuge there as he fled from the rebel army in Fife across the Firth of Forth. The Tower has now been meticulously restored, and opened in 2002 to provide 5-star accommodation for up to 12 guests. Set amongst rolling countryside and surrounded by many of the worlds' most famous golf courses (Muirfield, Gullane & North Berwick) Fenton Tower is the perfect base for a magnificent golfing experience. The location of the Tower makes it ideal for all kinds of country, sporting and recreational activities. Arrangements for parties of up to eight guns for Grouse, Partridge and Pheasant shooting, as well as fly fishing on the rivers Tweed and Tyne can be arranged. With horse riding, archery, and 5-star local attractions (including The National Museum of Flight, home to Concorde, and the Scottish Seabird Centre) all within a stones-throw of the Castle, your visit to East Lothian will be one you will want to repeat. . . . An unforgettable welcome A visit to Fenton Tower, whether for one night, or one month, will never be forgotten. A warm Scottish welcome, simple luxury and comfortable surroundings await you, with our small, dedicated team there to guide, advise and facilitate your every requirement.
