“Lovely food, lovely staff”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Had lunch here with a small party of friends on a gloriously sunny Sunday. We did wait a little while to order drinks but really not long and the Timothy Taylors Landlord was worth waiting for. Lunch was very good indeed, well above average pub standard food. Thought out dishes and good fresh ingredients were delivered by charming, smiling staff, and included a particularly interesting and delicious veggie dish, a very good home made chicken and leek pie, black pudding salad and a dish of smoked haddock with asparagus which were all raved over. A friendly place with a nice relaxed feel, excellent food and good beer.

“Busy place, lack of staff.”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

This is a really nice traditional pub, great location and a large place with a long bar and two rooms with a number of dining booths and open tables. Range of food and beers etc is fab however we found that the staff, although really friendly and great at their jobs were run off their feet, too few in number.

Would revisit but feel a better service delivery would add to the experience

“Lunch at The Ship Inn North Berwick”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Having been a frequent visitor to North Berwick and had numerous lunches/dinners at the Ship Inn can I say I was bitterly disappointed yesterday The pub was quiet and after 70 minutes wait for 1 portion of fish and chips and 1 bangers and mash we were still waiting for our food. When we complained we were told 2 different reasons. We left BUT were still charged for soft drinks we did not finish. Very poor service and we will certainly NOT be back

“Poor beer”
Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

This is a good beer guide pub...why I dont know the real ale was flat lifeless and hazy. The staff however were pleasant and chatty and told us they were the best in the area fir real ale. Sadly I have to disagree.

“Great Fish and Chips”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Enjoyed lunch here during a trip to North Berwick to watch the fantastic East Lothian Open Tennis tournament.
Lovely fish and chips, freshly prepared in a good sized portion. Service was fine and the pub is spacious inside with a few tables to the outside at both the front and rear.
Would happily return for good pub grub.
