“Slippy under-foot”

Need to be careful and also wear good gripping footwear. But stunning views from the top. Also enjoyed seeing the wild ponies.

“Nice gentle walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2013

Although we didn't make it all the way up due to my wife having no grip on her shoes and the fact the ground was slightly slippy, the climb was very easy and even if you were to need to stop there are benches at various points, do make sure you have plenty of warm clothing on and a good pair of gloves as even on a nice day it can be cold at the top. Pay attention as your going up and you might spot the ponies and also kestrels that circle the hill.

“Well worth the climb for the view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013 via mobile

It's an enjoyable and fairly relaxing climb to the top of the law. There is free parking at the bottom and you're free to take your dog for a walk up or around the Law. The view of it from the town would make it look like a vertical climb but if you follow the path round and up the side it is a more gradual climb. Even if you're not the strongest of hill climbers there are plenty of areas to sit and have a rest on the way. Once you get to the top (can take anything from 10 minutes to half an hour depending on your ability to climb) the views are spectacular. You can look down over the whole town to harbour and all the way round towards Edinburgh. It's beautiful especially if you have a nice day weather wise.

There is an annual race the first Wednesday evening every August if you're around to watch runners from all over the country come to race from the harbour to the top and all the way back down again (it can be done in less than 20 minutes!!!).

My advice would be pick a nice day in the Easter or summer, bring a picnic, take a slow walk to the top and enjoy your food and the views.

“Not the vertical hike it initially appears!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

I was almost disappointed how easy and quick it was to climb - it looked like it was going to be much more of an achievement to get to the top! Nice walk, and good views I suspect, if you go up on a clear day (I didn't unfortunately).

“Spectacular views at the end of the climb”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2013

Well worth the climb to the top for the amazing views, but pick a clear day if you want to make the most of it. The path can be rocky in places so wear sensible footwear and take binoculars if you want to be able to spot places on the Fife coast!
