This was our 7th visit to these cottages but our first stay in Shorthorn and it is just as lovely as Friesan Cottage.
The cottages are very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. They are clean, comfortable, bright and you feel at home and relaxed from the moment you walk through the door.
We arrived to a welcome basket with tea, coffee, biscuits etc along with flowers and a bottle of wine as well as a basket of logs for the wood burning fire.
The cottages are in a peaceful location and we woke up to find a pheasant wandering about the gardens on a few mornings.
There are lots of attractions nearby and many more are within easy reach. Eastbourne and Brighton are not too far a drive away and there are plenty of family friendly places to visit nearby too.
David the friendly owner always pops by to make sure everything is ok and is happy to help with anything you may need.
Perfect base for exploring and relaxing.
Thank you David we had a lovely time at Shorthorn Cottage. Great holiday home as it had everything you need. Really enjoyed sitting by the log burner with my family.
We arrived at the cottage and was greeted with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. the cottage is located with courtyard parking and was in a idyllic setting in the Sussex countryside.
The layout of the cottage is very friendly and inviting, we did feel quite at home from opening the door and the pictures online are a accurate representation of the rooms inside, the outside is dominated by a huge oak tree that is over 70 years old home to some interesting wildlife. and there is a nice patio if you get the weather.
A short drive away is Hastings making this a good place to have a nice get away from everything there are nice pubs quite close within a mile and the nearest village is about 5 mins drive.
This property is in a great location, plenty of things to do close by. Everything about the cottage is to a very high standard and quality. We were within easy distance to Scotney Castle, Forest Row Llama Park, Raystede Animal Welfare Centre. Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum. David was on hand for anything we needed and couldn't have been more helpful. I am only sorry that we had to leave a day early and I forgot to write words like this in the visitors book.
Had a lovely and relaxing stay at Shorthorn cottage. Well placed for getting away from the crowds but also it didn't take long to get to the great Sussex landmarks.
Shorthorn Cottage is a very comfortable cottage, set in beautiful countryside, within easy reach of the coast, many interesting places to visit and near many beautiful walks. David keeps the cottage in a beautiful condition and is always willing to answer any questions.
