“A beautiful hideaway in rural East Sussex”
Reviewed 2 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We have been coming here every year for 8 years. Initially attracted by "dogs (plural) welcome" but since our dogs died we are still coming. Beautiful walks and cycling from the doorstep. Wonderful country pubs, it is within easy reach of the coast and Glyndebourne. And of course a very welcoming host.

“Everything we needed in an idyllic location”
Reviewed 2 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The Granary is lovely base for 2 adults +1-2 children. The location is exactly what we were after - at the bottom of a winding country lane, very secluded, and looking over a beautiful valley in the heart of the Weald. Classic English countryside.

Sarah welcomed us to the property personally, leaving us a welcome basket of local food and drink and allowed us to roam their beautiful property with abandon! With a curious three-year old, that was very helpful. We rowed the little boat around the lake, seeing frogs, fish, dragonflies...etc, played Pooh sticks in the stream, rode the rope swing and wound down in the hammock. We would definitely return - perhaps being 4 of us next time.

“Perfect rural retreat, delightful hosts”
Reviewed 27 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

At the end of a no-through-road with no passing traffic, Greenwoods Granary couldn't be more tranquil. The setting is idyllic, in beautifully kept grounds, with wonderful views over the Sussex countryside. The property itself is comfortable and characterful, finished and equipped to a high standard, with an amazing and generous array of welcoming touches, from fresh flowers to home made bread to wine in the fridge. The hosts are charming, helpful and welcoming. We visited from London with our 8 year old daughter, who wept when we left. For families with older children, it's worth being aware that the double bedroom and the bathroom are both accessed through the children's bedroom, so it might be less suitable for teenagers in need of privacy!
