“Great Mixed Grill”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

My hubby and I decided to visit on Saturday. What a fantastic place. So cosy with so many things to look at.
Great service and the best mixed grill ever! It was huge. Even our chips and jacket potato had to be put on a separate plate
Would definitely recommend a visit.
Thank you x

“Beautiful setting, lovely welcome!”
Reviewed 28 December 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed a lovely evening on 23rd December with family who had joined us for Christmas. Made very welcome as always by Landlady Anne and her colleague Liz. We live locally and enjoy visiting our 'local' where food is excellent and freshly cooked by Anne. Famous for their collection of clocks (all of which are kept in perfect working order), this is a gem tucked away behind the church at Egloshayle. Well worth a visit, but watch your head... some low beams and doors in this very old, interesting building! Always looks fabulous at Christmas with decorations which cover the ceilings!

“Re-visit”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

Last visited this pub in 2011 and reviewed it as poor. Decided to give it another chance and visited last week for lunch with friends. What a difference - we were welcomed with a smile and handed the menu to look at. Last time we were not permitted to see the menu until we had sat at our table! The service was friendly, the food excellent with plenty of choice. The clocks are wonderful - particularly the cuckoo clock. I'm glad we gave it another chance and am delighted to recommend it. The car parking is good - rather narrow approach off the main road, but it is Cornwall! A hidden gem.

“A unique and friendly pub, well worth a visit!!”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

We made this our last meal at the end of a weeks November autumn holiday and we weren't disappointed, the atmosphere was both warm and welcoming from both bar staff and the locals, we were included in the conversations and jokes at the bar, exactly as you would want to be in a character pub, the landlady is rightly proud of her home and the bar and its unique style.

The locally reared Cornish beef fillet cooked medium rare with scallops , was unbelievably tender and for that reason and the well conditioned bitter we will be returning.

I hope to Christ that I've not excluded myself by telling everyone else of this great Pub???

“Fascinating”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

The clocks alone are worth a visit. The choices on the menu were a bit limited but a good selection of fish and steaks. My steak au poivre was first rate. Atmosphere was excellent.
