“Disable room”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

We had a friend do a reccy for us I think it was in Dec, who was shown the ground floor disabled room. We spoke to the hotel directly and then booked having been reassured that the accomodation was ok for my disabled husband. On arrival we were told our room was on the second floor . Yes there is a lift ,but its very tight to get wheelchair through fire door onto the coridoor.I have a bad back due to physically moving wheelchai Staff very understanding but couldn't move us . Room was as described and very clean ,bed low for my husband and no hand grip. Bathroom has many handrails and wet room with fixed seat which was fine Falcon next doorwas ok

Room Tip: Rooms not near the road would be my choice ,however I was told Travelodge will not let you reserve p...

Me and my part er stayed for 3 nights and used it as a base for exploring Cornwall, it was perfect. It's a Travelodge, so you know it is pretty basic, but the rooms were spotless and the staff were very friendly. The bed was so comfortable that we almost bought one of them! My only problem is that you don't have free view, so on the wet evenings there is really nothing to do...

booked in advance. Room was as described and condition was excellent, no complaints. We were given a different room on the second evening as we wanted a view. The staff were more than helpful in arranging the swap. Only downside was the mattress which was not to our liking and left us pining for our memory foam one. So maybe it was an ok mattress? All in all a good hotel despite being at the top of the hill!

Don't be put off by any previous poor experience of Travelodges or by the ludicrously low price online (£33 a night, room only, pre-paid) - having paid so little I admit to feeling a bit worried beforehand, but this turned out to be the bargain of our motoring holiday. Easy to find off the A30 and very handy for Padstow, which was our goal. Plenty of free parking. Double rooms are on the road side, so admittedly a bit noisy from traffic, but not unbearable. Spacious, clean, modern, refurbished room, though clothes-hanging was a bit limited. Handy pub eaterie next door - basic £3.25 cooked breakfast was small but adequate, with extras possible. Big range of meals later in day - very busy with families. Hotel receptionists very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay here again if visiting Padstow.

Room Tip: Double rooms are liable to be noisier (from traffic) than family ones.

This one has had a refurbishment recently and as such is very well presented. Had a room on the road side and as such it was a little noisy from about 6am. Diner in the Falcon next door was good value but breakfast the next morning was very poor value, suggest having breakfast on the road somewhere else!

Apart from a few coat hangers there was no storage and one plastic chair in the room. If you like to use the floor to put your clothes on and are happy to live out of a suitcase, as the floor is the only place provided, then Travel Lodge is the place for you. Whatever happened to the lovely rooms I have stayed in before? Please put some storage back in or you will lose customers.

With a travelodge most people know what to expect, this one was definitely one of the best. I'm guessing the hotel is a fairly new addition and therefore is very clean and in a good state of repair, however it obviously becomes more difficult to clean the more tired a place is so whether this hotel's cleanliness will stand the test of time I don't know, but from the time we visited I don't have a single complaint about the room. There is also plenty of private parking available and unlike some travelodges the parking here is free.
We didn't see a lot of staff on duty however the male receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful.
We ate in the restaurant/pub next door on one night and it was ok, not amazing but not bad either. Its convenient to have it on your doorstep after a long day of traveling but just don't expect 5* food or service.
The hotel is in a convenient location for a lot of what Cornwall has to offer and if i'm ever in the area again I would definitely be happy to stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want a bath in your room you may have to put a special request in as not all rooms have them
