“Could be better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

The house is spacious and warm. Very old fashioned furnishings (not shabby) and not what are on the advert photos. Some of the ornaments have also been removed. The garden lawns are great for children and dogs. Cut lawns but over grown flower beds. Lovely wooden childrens play house in the garden. The paving needs attention as a lot of it is cracked and dangerous. The wall top along the side between the house and garage is slate and sticks out and sharp so keep chlildren well away. The twin beds are wood slatted and more suited for children than adults. The double bed is very high and the wood floors with no carpet not nice to walk on. A lack of cutlety and crockery being only 4 of each item means having to wash things during a meal. This house could be very nice with some TLC and attention to the finishing touches. The view from the garden is gorgeous over fields as far as the eye can see. There is the noise from the main road across the fields in a valley but we got used to it rumbling. A very quiet neighbourhood. Housekeeper made us very welcome with home made cakes and tea on arrival. The house was as clean as could be for an older property and the bed linen and towels excellent. I would stay here again but the property could be improved upon in certain areas.

“Great location, a tidy and efficient house, good value.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2012 for a stay in September 2011

We had a rather damp and misty week here in September 2011, but the house was more than adequate for keeping us warm and dry. Very accessible, easy parking, nice and quiet, but 5 mins from tesco, lidl and the camel trail. Lovely views from the back of the house towards the Camel, sunny front aspect, nice big (though featureless) garden for our little dog to run around in. Kitchen quite well equipped and we felt we had to try to use the rayburn (but found the electric cooker more co-operative!). I have to say that the bedroom and dining room furnishings and kitchen equipment are rather old fashioned and the bedrooms felt a little spartan with hard floors and slippy rugs. The bathroom was great though - efficient, and with a spare loo downstairs.
An unsophisticated but solid and homely house. Would be great for a family with two children. Excellent value for money.
