Lovely food, beautiful decor. But more than anything our waitress went above and beyond. Really great experience.

I give the restaurant 5 stars as it always has had a special place in my heart. We went on Saturday night as a group of for for dinner.

We were attended to very quickly by a young make waiter (can't recall his name, but he looks like a young John Culshaw - the voice impressionist) He was very helpful and explained the menu and the specials.

We had a couple of drinks and a couple bottles of nice Pinot Grigio.

The starters were fabulous - Arancini balls - to die for, BBQ mackerel - to die for, the Tusacn hot pot that was lovely and a hake starter which was lovely.

The mains of pizza, fish burger, sea brill and the pasta dish were excellent and the service matched it.

The only slight niggle, hence my 'but' comment is that there is only one dessert as such. The Roald Dahl inspired Whoopsey Splunker. Basically it is delicious ice cream to which you add in any amount you want of,honeycomb, popping candy, fudge sprinkles etc. It is very nice.

There is also a sorbet on offer.

Perhaps they could add a daily special dessert. That said, its no big deal, just an observation.

All in all we had a lovely evening with great food and service.

Oh, and on Saturday morning I bumped into Paul Ainsworth in a Padstow back street. embarrassingly he wanted a selfie with me, so I obliged!!

We turned up early on a Sunday evening on spec and were lucky to secure a table outside when the sun was shining. We ordered calamari, bruschetta and arancini to start following by two pizzas and some rigatoni with chicken through it. Two of us were sharing the pizza and pasta. If I had ordered the pasta on its own I may have been a little disappointed as the portion size was quite small and lacked a decent amount of chicken. However food was very tasty and we were pleased with our meal. We asked for a taxi to be ordered to return us to Watergate Bay but we were presented with a list of taxi numbers which was a little disappointing. Thankfully we finally got a taxi.

We visited Rojanos twice in one week......a mistake. The menu lacks choice. Since last year the menu has been simplified. The restaurant is now essentially a Pizza restaurant with 2/3 pasta dishes. That's not to say the food isn't good. It just does not compare to when Paul Ainsworth first took the restaurant over a couple of years ago. That was a revelation. I might have even awarded 5 stars then. Desserts are non existent unless you want a crazily named Splunkers (?)
Not aimed specifically at this restaurant but we did notice a drop in standards in general in restaurants in Padstow this year...... As though it's easy to make money and not difficult to fill restaurants.
