We took the 2 hour trip and on the first occasion we saw numerous sea birds to include gannets, razoribills, guillemots with the highlight being 5 or 6 puffins. The views alone are worth it and it is fascinating looking at the beaches and coast paths from a different perspective.
On trip 2, No puffins this time but more seals including one tucking into probably a large Pollock. We were coming towards the end of our trip with some interesting commentary on the history of the estuary when our skipper spotted a lot of bird activity a way off. He could easily have continued back to Padstow but he deviated back out to sea where a pod of around 20 dolphins were spotted. The boat was stopped and it was a joy for all on board when the dolphins decided to swim over and interact with the craft. They spent a good 15 minutes around us. This company is an ethical marine business which shows the wildlife total respect and we would not have moved closer to them.
Make sure you have a camera at the ready, perhaps a sweatshirt as even on a hot day it is a little breezy when at speed.
This trip is well worth it ... informative commentary from staff that clearly love what they do.
