“Expensive for what it is”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

I am local and visited for the first time today with a 2 yrs and 4 month old.

Firstly it was expensive for what it was. £6 per adult but what I was most surprised about was having to pay £6 for the 2 year old which meant £18 for three of us. Usually children under 3 are free or pay for the child and adults free. We managed 2 hours at the park, so expensive for what there was.

There were a few farm animals to feed, a small train that went around, some trampolines, child slide, a pony ride lasting about 4 minutes but my toddler didn't want to go, and some little tikes trucks, that was it for the 2 year old......

The trip was ok bug the price puts me off going again, it's not somewhere I would take out a years membership for example it is better value at newquay zoo. Similar price as 2 year old is free and lots more to see, plus the train in the park and swings etc

The place was ok just too pricey for a local....

Was a bit sceptical because of some of the negative reviews posted previously. However, we decided to go because we had such glorious weather. So glad we did! What a fantastic place! Nothing bad to say about the the day to be honest. We used a BOGOF voucher but I'd happily pay the full price if needed. The animals all looked well cared for. Everywhere was clean and tidy, toilet facilities were great. The major rides were included in the entry fee plus all the slides, play areas and a huge sand area (diggers were a nice touch!) We took a packed lunch so didn't eat in the dining area however we did purchase some drinks and found the prices to be fair. The gift shop was fairly priced based on what we purchased (tractors and a toy lizard) The only small thing I'd say is perhaps have some vending machines selling drinks dotted around, this would perhaps help queues in the cafeteria. However, I did like the fact there weren't lots of stalls etc...selling lots of food and drinks as if kids see, they want! We were visiting from Cardiff (family live this end) and wished we had something close to us for such for good value for money! Thanks for a great day out!

We have a one year old daughter and wanted somewhere to take her for an afternoon, this place was perfect. Slightly out of the way down some country lanes, but still on the main road between Newquay and Padstow so not in the middle of nowhere, but still with a quiet countryside feel. There was a train ride which she loved, some play equipment she had fun on (the trampolines especially) and feeding the animals. She was a little young for a proper pony ride but they were very happy to let us put her on anyway and have a mini ride while we held her upright, so great service. It is quite small, but this was just right for us and the entry was very reasonable. We didn't eat there but the cafe appeared to be reasonably priced and had decent food. They even came across and let me have a try of the scrumpy when I looked interested in the barrel in the shop. All round it just came across as a very friendly, happy place with excellent staff. The only thing I would say is that it may not be too suitable for older children (high school age) - they may get bored of the play equipment and animals quite quickly - plus there isn't really enough there for a whole full day out. But for the price and somewhere to take a restless one year old for an afternoon - absolutely perfect. We shall certainly be returning next time we stay in the area, and a nice change from some of the ripoff tourist traps with surly staff that we have encountered in the past!

We took our grandchildren (3 and 11months) here for an hour, it turned into most of the day. They, and we, enjoyed it very very much. The staff could not have done more to help and nothing was too much trouble, The pony rides, the train rides, the food, the animals and all the play areas were excellent and if we lived nearer we would visit it every time we needed to occupy our grandchildren, excellent.

We decided on old macdonalds farm for my little boys 2nd birthday treat whilst we were on holiday- we weren't disappointed
What a lovely set up- reasonable, clean, well thought out and planned
We were blessed with fab weather which always helps but we were able to stay for a couple of hours no boredom loads to do and the little train was a boon!

Been camping for a week here in August with our 3 year old daughter and my 2 brothers and their children and our mum and dad. Absolutely fab! We camped on pitch 16 and loved the field, great for the kids.

Farm is open 8.30am-8.30pm and if you go on first thing you can feed all the animals their breakfast! Including bottle feeding the lambs and calves!

Miniature train is going all day....bless that man who drives it....smiles all day and he is happy just driving the kids round all day!

Great trampolines and adventure playground with go karts and games room!

Shower block had 6 showers....could do with being a bit bigger and cleaner but all was fine for the sake of a week.....shower 6 was best if 3 or 4 of you wanted one at once!

Also their is a chest freezer in games room for ice packs....TIP- keep them in a bag with name on!!!

Porthcothan bay is just down the road and is a great beach for the surf or just sun bathing and has a shop with cash machine and pasties!!!!

Spring house Chinese down the road is nice as a take away as well! Closest supermarket is tesco in padstow!!! Not 24 hours tho!!!

All in all fab holiday!
