“Recommended place to stay”

Stayed at the Metropole Hotel Padstow for 3 nights b&b and evening meal - part of a large group approx 90 people. Nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. Excellent tasty meals (breakfast and dinner) - plenty of variety and choices on offer. Catered well with such a large group. Had treatment in spa of hotel - very nice and relaxing - one of the best I've had - well recommended. Fantastic views of Padstow estuary and over to Rock on the other side from the dining room. Only drawback was a small bar with few staff, but probably this seemed a little crowded because of the numbers in our group and the fact that we were all eating at the same time therefore tended to have our pre-dinner drinks same time! There were plenty of rooms to sit and relax in. All in all a very good location for exploring Padstow and surrounding areas. Would recommend staying here.

we stayed here over may bank holiday , we were up graded for an extra £15 to room 5 which had lovely views over the estuary well worth the extra money . Breakfast was very good with a good selection of cooked and continental .Rooms could do with a freshen up , but it is a very old hotel, lots of staff who were all very polite .

Room Tip: room 5 lovely view with relaxing chairs and table in the window

Nice grand exterior of building - location is good.. Rooms are VERY simple, tv only has 2 working channels with not very good picture, pillows are horrible, felt like I walked into the early 70's in the room. Staff are few and far between.
For the price (£129 p/n) was not at all what i expected...

We have stayed at the Metropole twice now, the second time we had our wedding there.
On both occasions, the service was outstanding, the staff very friendly and helpful and the food excellent.
For those of you considering holding your wedding here, there is no need to look anywhere else. From start to finish the service was above and beyond what we expected and we had a day to truly remember - the room was perfect, we had all the help we needed and everything ran smoother than smooth.
Superb views, superb location, superb customer service and superb food. Nuff said!

We stayed for three days over the period of the May Day celebrations. The Metropole was a good base from which to visit the Eden project, and was an ideal base for the traditional May Day Festival
Bedroom was comfortable with spectacular views over the estuary. Food was variable, superb on our first evening and mediocre on the last. Breakfast was disappointing, and certainly not five star standard.
Overall, pleasant and comfortable, but a bit overpriced.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for an estuary view or you our be looking at the car park!

We were given a great room overlooking Padstow bay. The rooms could maybe do with a tiny more tlc they were very clean and comfortable with very nice en suite bathrooms. The hotel is grand but retains a lot of charm. The staff at the hotel are extremely polite and very helpful.

We booked a two day break form May 4 to treat our daughter in law for her birthday.. Itwas a splendid break in a Hotel with wonderful views from the lounge and restauant. The food was delicious and the stay good value on the Spring Special offer. We had an updated room (36) with modern TV but although the room (19) for our guests was lovely the TV was very limited with very few channels. One bad note for a 4 star hotel wss the appalling state of the caroet around the bar aree - an eye sore and certainly a let down - Iam sure Keith Richardson has n0ot seen this but where is the housekeeper ? We would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for an updated room with modern TV
