We held our Wedding at The Metropole at the end of April. Amy and the rest of the staff were so friendly, efficient and helpful - they could not have done more for us. The day went so perfectly. The quality of the food was amazing and also good portion sizes. You can not beat this hotel for the location and staff. We stayed in room 104 which was very large, clean and had a great view over the estuary. Other members of our family also stayed and had a great time and were really please with the rooms, friendly staff and food. Would definitely recommend this hotel to stay at when in Padstow and also for a Wedding. We were so glad we chose The Metropole.

We had a fantastic one night stay at this hotel. Been to Padstow for many years but never fancied the Metropole as the exterior looks dated but what a surprise. The staff were very welcoming and all staff spoke to us in a friendly way at all times. We were offered tea, coffee and cornish biscuits on arrival in the wonderful terrace, with fantastic panoramic views cross the estuary. Hotel set in lovely well kept grounds in the centre of Padstow. Rooms of a good size, light & airy, with everything you need. Evening meal was amazing. We had bream and chicken supreme. Well presented and very tasty. Breakfast very good with lot's of choice. The hotel has its own car park, a spa and outdoor heated pool. It is also very dog friendly .. You even get a "woof dog in room" sign for your door.

Well done Metropole staff. Exceptional service and so welcoming.

This is a very good and very popular hotel in the lovely setting of Padstow. It is obvious that many guests return year after year and with good reason. The food is excellent and has a one AA rosette award for what I believe, is now for ten years Very well deserved. My only minor criticism is that there were only minor changes in the menu each night. However value for money is not disputable. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and we were made to feel very much at home. Had a very relaxing stay
Will definately return but one word of caution- although there is a car park it does get very busy and manouvering safely can be a nightmare. I did think about using a nearby public car park and wish I had as managed to scrape side of car when trying to negotiate the very narrow stone archway through to the overflow car park at back of hotel. The cost of using and paying to use the public car park would have been much cheaper than paying my insurance excess!! Will definately do this next time!

A rather tired grand old lady...room average but bathroom large.
Beds thrown together...shocking pillows!
This hotel needs some care and attention lavished on it...but it is very convenient to the village centre and did supply parking......full of huge tour groups.
Very basic food served....we only ate afternoon tea and breakfast.

Room Tip: Great location ..but very average quality for the cost.

Stayed at the Metropole Hotel Padstow for 3 nights b&b and evening meal - part of a large group approx 90 people. Nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. Excellent tasty meals (breakfast and dinner) - plenty of variety and choices on offer. Catered well with such a large group. Had treatment in spa of hotel - very nice and relaxing - one of the best I've had - well recommended. Fantastic views of Padstow estuary and over to Rock on the other side from the dining room. Only drawback was a small bar with few staff, but probably this seemed a little crowded because of the numbers in our group and the fact that we were all eating at the same time therefore tended to have our pre-dinner drinks same time! There were plenty of rooms to sit and relax in. All in all a very good location for exploring Padstow and surrounding areas. Would recommend staying here.

we stayed here over may bank holiday , we were up graded for an extra £15 to room 5 which had lovely views over the estuary well worth the extra money . Breakfast was very good with a good selection of cooked and continental .Rooms could do with a freshen up , but it is a very old hotel, lots of staff who were all very polite .

Room Tip: room 5 lovely view with relaxing chairs and table in the window

Nice grand exterior of building - location is good.. Rooms are VERY simple, tv only has 2 working channels with not very good picture, pillows are horrible, felt like I walked into the early 70's in the room. Staff are few and far between.
For the price (£129 p/n) was not at all what i expected...
