“Another Good Night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

Whilst on a 3 day break to Cornwall we decided to make our fourth visit to the Bistro. Once again we were not disappointed as the food and the service were excellent. I booked for 9pm which was later than I wanted but was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call at 8.30pm to say that our table was free if we wanted to come early, a nice touch much appreciated. Our waitress was polite and efficient and the overall experience was very pleasant and not rushed despite it being a busy night. We will definitely be back.

A romantic weekend away, staying at the St. Petroc Hotel. The room was very comfortable and the service impeccable. The Bistro was as usual excellent, great food at great value. Our waitress Beth was really great and nothing was to much trouble, even running down to the nearby sea food restaurant to get custard for our desert, top marks all round. Gents if you want to spoil your better half, book in and stay a night or two and dine in. The rewards will be worth it.

We have visited Padstow in the winter for many years now, but only occasionally choose to eat here, generally going to the Seafood Restaurant and Rick Steins Cafe. This time the Cafe was closed for refurbishment so we chose the Bistro instead. We had a lovely evening - a friendly welcome, drinks on the comfy sofas in the lounge and an excellent meal. In the past we have found the Bistro rather noisy, but this time it was not a problem. We would definitely return!

We have just returned from a trip to Rick Stein's Hotel and visited both the seafood restaurant and the bistro for dinner, the whole experience was wonderful. can't say enough good things about it all. Just wish we lived a little nearer, would never go anywhere else. Well done to the Stein Team!

We had the inclusive winter package - three nights bed, breakfast and evening meal (two in the Seafood restaurant and one in the Bistro). We had the attic room - described as cosy - and it was exactly that. Cosy but not cramped, with a great view of the harbour and quite a sizeable and luxurious en suite. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were excellent, with all the choices you'd want, and the evening meals were exceptionally good food - making the package excellent value. Thoroughly recommend it!

We visited in late February when the weather was mainly fine, but winter squalls gave us a soaking every now and again. The hotel was a warm home for our stay, and our room, St Perins, was absolutely lovely. Food in the bistro was excellent, with breakfast a special treat. We also ate at Rick Stein's Cafe which was similarly delicious, and choice of wine, though a bit pricey, was superb. We will definitely be back.
