We booked St Petroc's as we were coming for a fun day at the Seafood Cookery School (amazing - we cooked FOUR meals and ate five. So much fun - do try it!).
We chose St Merryn which is well equipped and the bathroom huge! A lovely claw foot bath (in the middle of the room!) and marvellous shower with two heads that can be used at once. The bed was very comfortable (we did suggest that the too-warm duvet could perhaps have an alternative/optional blanket in the summer months). The room is at the back of the house so beautifully sunny in the afternoon/evening and with no road noise. Keep in mind, however, that garden diners will be outside until closing time and in June your windows will be open - especially in that sunny room I mentioned! We were very glad not to be close to the huge kitchen extractor (what a pity it isn't located at the back of the property where you wouldn't see or hear it). It didn't bother us particularly although it is an eye-sore.
The view at the back is across the historic cottage roofline - from the bathroom we had a slight view of the harbour! But hey - it's thirty seconds walk to see the whole of it and you've been eating ice cream and/or drinking a lovely Rock beer on a bench there all afternoon anyway!
The staff were very amenable and capable and we loved our breakfast chats with Bev and the other blonde lady!
Breakfast was good - fresh berries (June), yogurts, granola, cereal and then cooked food of your choice. I'm a vegetarian and opted for tomatoes and mushrooms, my husband had the full Cornish. (Here's a little question though: how come I had two pieces and he had five?).
Overall very enjoyable: comfortable room, lashings of hot water, good breakfasts and lovely staff bang in the centre of Padstow, with parking.
