Nothing bad to say about this place! Definitely stay again. Rooms are lovely restaurant is delicious! Breakfast fab! We've been for dinner before but never stayed and it didn't disappoint.
We stayed in"Estuary View" room, which did exactly what it said - a beautiful view over the busy estuary!

Decided to stay here whilst eating in the Sea Food Restaurant (also owned by Rick Stein-like most of Padstow!) the staff in the restaurant organised a room for us with 15% discount as booked on the day (good to know for next time).
Beautiful little hotel 5min walk from the Sea Food Restaurant and seafront. Rooms were large and spacious and finished to a high quality. Molton Brown products in the bathroom, along with gorgeous fluffy towels and robes. The shower was really powerful, bed super comfy and there was delicious handmade biscuits to eat (complimentary with the tea/coffee).
Breakfast was super good-selection of amazing pastries all just made freshly (everything else that goes with continental breakfasts), and of course the full English option-which didn’t disappoint! Staff were attentive but not over the top. We had a lovely stay here and would highly recommend it.

We have just spent 2 nights at the hotel. First night we eat at the Seafood restaurant. Whilst the food was good and service there was no atmosphere at all and you are packed in like sardines. It's also very expensive.

On the second night we eat in the Bistro. I had read the reviews and was of the opinion tocancel our booking. Fortunately we did not. What a revelation. The place was full with one big party but there was a great ambience about the place. Even though they were incredibly busy the service was better than first class. As for the food it was better than the previous night and half the price. We will be staying again later in the year and will be staying in this wonderful comfortable hotel. Well done all the staff you're our stay very memorable.

Room Tip: Yellow it's on the front so you can people watch

I have eaten in many very good restaurants and a few that have blown me away. This one falls into the former category.

We ate lunch there on a daytrip. Starter was a prawn and Crab cocktail which was a bit under-seasoned for my taste. For mains we had lemon sole and rock bass. Both were fresh and perfectly cooked but this is Stein's place so that earns no plaudits. The Bass was still deep sea diving in a sea of butter. I wanted a slice of lemon but it wasn't offered (and I prefer not to tamper with what the chef has put on the plate) and to me it made it a bit too oily. Very nice side dishes. Delicious sorbet (the blood orange sorbet in particular was very good) rounded it off nicely. As I was driving I didn't get the chance to sample the wine list :(

The bill came to £85 before tips.

Overall very good and in line with similarly ranked London restaurants and at a similar price.

Loved it, from the friendly welcome, to the big bedroom, to the welcome blanket for the dog (justified the £20.00 charge) to the wonderful fresh fish for breakfast. Well worth the high price.
We will definitely return.

Stayed for one night in the Generous Master bedroom. No place to put a suitcase to unpack apart from the floor (unusual for a room designated as being for the disabled) or any shelf in the bathroom for a toilet bag. There are narrow niches in the wall only but too small for some cosmetic bottles. Shower area had small tray only to hold soap and 1 bottle. Where do you put other bottles?- on the floor. Full length mirror in front of WC was very odd. The bed was lumpy and one side was so sunken, that sleep was very difficult. Nice outside terrace with reclining loungers. Breakfast taken at St Petroc's Hotel was very average with no orange juice available at 8.15 (waiting for delivery) and, horror of horrors, a long hair in the fruit. Complained and given discount and bottle of champagne. Staff seemed genuinely concerned.
