We have just returned from a long weekend at the seafood restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My wife and I and our parents enjoyed 3 wonderful nights. The rooms were small but very well furnished and ultra clean! The staff are very professional and make sure everything runs smoothly. The breakfast had a good choice and if you wanted something else that wasnt on the menu just ask!! We dined in the resaurant on the Saturday, The food was very hig standard(scallops to die for)...

And to complete the trip Rick was around the hotel and dined on the next table to us!!!!

This was our third visit to the Restaurant over the last 8 years and once again we were not disappointed. The accomodation was clean & luxurious and the food delicious [as usual]. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm, friendly and relaxing. The food and accomodation are not cheap but you get what you pay for. We stayed for 3 nights and ate at the Bistro on our first night, the Seafood Restaurant on the second and had 'Rick Stein's Fish & Chips' on our third evening. All 3 venues are excellent and I can't wait until we visit again.......

We stayed here on the 'spring package' for part of our honeymoon and very much enjoyed dining in both the cafe and the seafood restaurant.

Our room (room 1) had fantastic views (but being on the seafront it was a bit noisy with the windows open) and was very comfortable; it lacked a bit of character but the bathroom was excellent and we were mostly there for the food which lived up to all our expectations! The breakfasts were fantastic and the service throughout was faultless.

The midweek 2 night packages seem like a good deal.

Room Tip: Rooms on the seafront can be noisy but the views make up for it. Rooms and bathrooms seem to vary an...

This is our fifth visit the Seafood restaurant spanning the last 15 years and every time it just gets better . Take no notice of the fussy reviews , this is not a flash michelin starred restaurant but it is a fantastic place to relax with friends and have a wonderful dinner served by lovely friendly staff . Food was faultless , with monkfish , turbot and the indonesian curry historic . yes it's not cheap but you don't go to places like this every week , so if you do go for a treat make sure you enjoy every moment , if you want a table for dinner to last all night make sure you book from 8pm onwards . Finally as a total surprise our party of six were invited to view the kitchen ! How cool was that , and a tremendous insight into such a slick professional kitchen , we even met the head chef who was so friendly and answered our questions . Just go , we'll be back .

Went for lunch in March 2012 - restaurant was very busy but still kept a nice relaxed, informal atmosphere. staff were all really friendly and polite and the restaurant was very clean and well decorated. We ate from the set lunch menu which still offered a good selection of dishes for a decent price. Starters & mains were both fantastic and tasted lovely and fresh. If you're a fan of seafood it's definatley worth pushingthe boat out for. However, don't forget to leave room for desert, as I had one of the nicest deserts ever here!!

We visited this Restaurant on our last visit to England and we had to find time to go again. We were not disappointed. The food is true to Rick Steins philosophy of good produce cooked simply and well. My Sea Bass starter was absolutely divine. Really fresh fish cooked in butter with a very simple vinegarette and diced tomatoe. So simple, but the seasoning was perfect, the balance of flavours perfect and the fish cooked to perfection.
The Dover Sole main was brilliant. A very well cooked fish again but this time married with a mixed leaf salad and Asian spices. Just delightful.
This is not Michelin starred cooking, but it is still great cooking. It is also cooking that is more accessible to all palates.

The seafood restaurant's rooms are fabulous. Clean, plush and comfortable. We also ate in the restaurant. It serves the finest foods with ease and is in no way stuck up, like some not so special restaurants tend to be. Lovely hotel, lovely restaurant in a lovely place. Well done Rick.
