'Greenacres' turned out to be the ideal solution for a weeks get away from it all break for all the family.
Spacious, comfortable, inviting, secure garden, great views. Just some of the criteria we were looking for in a base to accommodate adults, children and in the case of my brother, an MS sufferer.
Located in the heart of the Cornish countryside yet only a short distance from local sandy beaches such as Porthcothan Bay and Watergate Bay (home of the popular Jamie Oliver restaurant 'Fifteen').'Greenacres' surpassed our requirements.
Step over the threshold and the tension of our long journey evaporated in an instant. Struck by the shear size of the entrance hall, you are drawn through this large space into a house of pastel colours and white furniture. Immediately it felt right. It felt like home.
The bedrooms ( all en-suite) were well proportioned, light and airy. Everything was clean and smelt very fresh. There are two lounges. One is essentially for children with a selection of games and the ubiquitous TV. Boy, what a blessing that room turned out to be. Good thinking.
For those of us with culinary ambitions, the well equipped kitchen helped make light work of preparing meals for the hungry hoards. Mealtimes were enjoyed in the long gallery dining room, whilst windows down the entire length of one side provided a pleasing link with the garden.
The garden was not over manicured, but there was plenty of grass. It was completely secure for children to run around safely. We were happy there was no chance of them running off. It was a great garden for a barbecue and the provision of two large picnic tables were ideal for a touch of outdoor dining and drinking !
Nestling amongst the few houses in the hamlet of Trebburick 'Greenacres' is perfectly placed for access to Porthcothan Bay, Constantine Bay and Bedruthan Steps. Sandy beaches, breathtaking scenery and bracing cliff top walks tickle the senses with the wonder and beauty of our natural coastline.
We had a really happy get together that week in September and 'Greenacres' proved the perfect base for a great family holiday. Spacious without being cavernous, this house provides room to breath and when necessary space for quite contemplation.
The New England style decoration, coupled with empathetic furnishings help create an ambience of peace and tranquillity. The house was very clean, well maintained and all together very homely.
We left well chilled and with every intent on returning to this beautiful spot in Cornwall.
Congratulations and all the best. Richard Page.
