We had a fabulous family holiday in the lovely homely Greenacres, with our 2 groups of 4 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs, there’s loads of space, great social dining area, lovely big bedrooms with en suites and in a fabulous location for the 7 bays. Oh and the icing on the cake - the hot tub - what a treat at the end of each day!
We spent days bodyboarding at Porthcothan, Harlyn and Watergate Bays, evenings in and out and a special evening in the private dining room at Jamie’s Fifteen (definitely worth a visit) and a trip to the lighthouse cinema in Newquay.
We absolutely loved it, thank you Jayne - from the Vardy, Jones and Simpson crew :)
Luxurious and spacious accommodation situated on a country road within a few minutes drive of the beautiful Porthcothan Bay, offering a superb large sandy beach and cafe / ice-cream / toilet facilities. This house was all we needed and more. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival, all the rooms are large and nicely decorated, and with five bathrooms there was more than enough space for our family group of nine. The hot tub was the best one we've ever used, with bluetooth speakers, jet sprays and mood lighting. The games room was a hit with the younger ones, who spent time playing with the well stocked games and toys. The garden is neat and well enclosed, and we enjoyed a family barbecue with plenty of seating for everyone. We drove to nearby Padstow and used the smoothly ran park and ride service. Half of the group went mackerel fishing and we had a superb meal with the days catch, all seated around the large dining table later on that evening! I took the younger children on the Jubilee Queen Cruise - at £15 adults / £10 children it was a great trip - taking you to see the smugglers coves, mines, and then to a rock island where we watched seals sunbathing! If you are looking to eat out, bear in mind it gets very busy and book your restaurant before you travel if possible! We tried Rick Stein's fish and chip take away in Padstow - amazing fish with homemade tartare sauce! There are beautiful coastal walks on the doorstep of Greenacres too, I recommend the Bedruthan Steps and an amazing cream tea to finish at the Carnewas Tearoom overlooking the coast. Also, Berryfields nearby serves great food, and the best ice cream milkshakes. The only down side was one week just wasn't enough to do everything there is around the local area, so we will have to return!!
Beds really comfy & all rooms have clean bright ensuites with fresh towels. Hot tub fab & conservatory with long dining table perfect. Good location as long as you have a car. Would recommend & would stay again.
Had a lovely week at this lovely spacious home that accommodated all 8 adults, 3 little ones and dogs well .all items needed on a daily basis had been thoughtfully provided ....house clean and bright too...would definitely return again .
The house is as described, large, very clean and well equipped. There isn’t anything more we could have wished for: games room with toys for the kids with tv and dvds, large kitchen with everything you need (even plastic boxes, plates etc for picnics), laundry room (towels were even provided for our dog) and a good size garden with a large hot tub including bluetooth connection to listen to your music. Location wise, the house is near one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen. The best time to go on Porthcothan bay beach is at low tide when you can explore caves and climb on rocks; our dog and the whole family had such lovely walks. There is also loads to see around: Padstow, Port st Issac... A lovely family holiday in Cornwall! Thank you
This property was over and above our expectations. It had everything you could possibly need and more. Beautiful design and absolutely luxurious. The perfect place to take your children and dogs. Thank you, so glad we booked this property.
Had a four night break in this wonderful house with five friends. All ladies between 50's and 60's, and all pretty fussy!! The house was perfect. Spacious and stylish with a comfortable homey feel. Did not feel at all cramped. Large, very well equipped kitchen with everything you could need, and great bedrooms with ensuite bath or shower facilities.
Short walk to Porthcothan Bay, a delightful spot with a nice beach and little cafe.
Short, easy drives to Padstow with all its fantastic restaurants, ferry to Rock, and the Camel trail for a great walk or cycle ride..Good hotels with spa facilities, and the lovely Watergate Bay not far in the other direction.
