“Ideal Holiday For Young Families”

We stayed in Curlew Cottage last week and had a superb time. Plenty for our toddlers to do - a great park with swings and slides, a swimming pool, animal feeding every morning, toys bursting out of every corner - we rarely left the farm. They were so happy playing there we didn't need to.

Cottages are very comfortable. Melanie and Mike were extremely helpful and went to great lengths to ensure our stay was a good one.

Padstow is just a short drive away (the Cornish pasties were still warm after we drove back to the cottage :-) ) and the local beaches are fantastic. Trevone Beach was our favourite.

If you want a peaceful break away that's safe and fun for young children, this is the place to go. The internet connection was slow but I didn't mind that - gave me a great excuse to completely disconnect and enjoy a good old fashioned family holiday.

Thank you for your lovely review, it was wonderful to see your daughter and the friend she made having such a great time, some of our guests' children make lasting friends during their stay, and come back again and again. We look forward to seeing you all again. As hopefully I remembered to explain, Superfast Broadband is coming to Trevorrick as soon as it goes live. The cables have been fixed to the telegraph poles already, so hopefully it won't be long now! We are also great for couples and have had some lovely comments on a well known social media site recently! Also lots of pictures of our animals and latest news from our little Cornish farm. “Great Place, Great Holiday”

Thank you Melanie & Mike for a great holiday, we stayed in the Lily Pad cottage & it was well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable & the bathroom was superb. Our balcony overlooking Little Petherick Creek had stunning views. It was wonderful to see all your farm animals & see the children from next door feeding & petting them. The Barn Owls were a delight to see, we spent 30 minutes each night watching them. The walks were fantastic, we only used our car twice over the week. We walked each night to the local pub The Pickwick Inn, highly recommend, great food not over priced. We will definitely be back, many thanks

Thank you for your lovely review. Great to know that couples love us as well as families, we are such a peaceful quiet location with great walks from the door. We love it that it is possible to do so much from here without the car and we are so lucky to have the Pickwick Inn half mile away and Ring O Bells just one mile away. We are so glad you enjoyed our barn owls, they will be fledging soon and our guests will be able to see the young outside the box. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. “Another great holiday”

Stayed at Trevorrick farm for a second year running, if we had told the kids we were going elsewhere they would sulk for weeks they love it, so do we it is hard to beat. For parents its as safe a place for kids as you can get, fantastic pub with kids outdoor play area 5 min walk along a quiet lane, child friendly beach, supermarket, Padstow, theme parks all 5 min drive away.
For the kids there is so much to do on the farm, morning feeding animals, trampoline, play houses ,toys, toys toys , swimming pool, climbing castle, loads of space to run around.

Cottages are clean comfy and well equipped with anything you could want for. Mike and Melanie provide cots, high chairs, toys, films, push chairs, beach equipment and wellies etc. Which all help to save precious car space.

Trevorrick still feels like a hidden gem to us I would advise people to read all the good reviews and book up it really is a fantastic place run by a fantastic couple who seem to run it for pleasure rather than business, my kids 3-4yr old daughters do not stop talking about Melanie all year, we held off telling them when it was time to leave untill the morning we left as both burst out crying!! say no more..Enjoy

“Our 2 year old Gabriella loved feeding the animals every morning!”
Reviewed 24 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

My wife, me, our 2 year old toddler and 2 month old baby stayed in serendipity for 1 week.

The highlight for us and our toddler was feeding the animals every morning. Starting with the turkey's and pigs before some petting of the rabbit or guinea pigs and finishing with bottle feeding a lamb - I never thought our 2 year old would be up for it or as brave as she was (if you've never fed animals on a farm you should know they want their food quickly so dish it out quick or they'll eat it from your hands!! ) but she loved it!

The cottage was brilliant and had absolutely everything you could want and more. Lots of toys and games for our toddler which was a real bonus and saved some space in the car for the trip down! There was even a baby carrier we borrowed for our toddler so we could go on some walks!

As well as all the toys and videos in the cottage their is a great play park including the combine harvester climbing frame and slides, 2 Wendy houses and a sand pit. On top of this in the games room by the pool house there's loads more toys and games and videos for the kids and Mums and Dads.

Melanie is a great host and help with plenty of ideas and leaflets to help you decide what to do if you don't know the area. The location itself is great - walking distance to Padstow (across a couple of fields to get to the Camel Trail) and easy access to lots of attractions nearby. Would recommend Lappa Valley and Dairyland for the young ones.

Overall a great find for us and if we can find another spare gap in our holiday schedule one year we'll be back.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. We really try hard to provide a great farm experience for everyone. The lambs are coming along well, and are now in a paddock daytime, and really enjoying their milk! It is so much appreciated having such enthusiastic animal helpers - of all ages. Gabriella was brilliant. Very much looking forward to seeing you all again in the future. Melanie xxx

“Wonderful family break”
Reviewed 10 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We spent a wonderful long weekend at Trevorrick Farm and it was absolutely delightful. The cottage (The Round House) was much bigger than the pictures with a big family room, spacious bedroom with gorgeous views over the farm and surrounding hills, and an ample kitchen for our weekend away. Melanie had very thoughtfully provided age-appropriate toys for our 1 year old as well as a high chair and travel cot. The owners service was friendly and welcoming without being obtrusive; a delicate balance to strike when they live on-site especially given it's a working farm. This would be an amazing place in summer with all the fantastic amenities for children (Wendy houses, climbing frames, bikes for all ages, a trampoline - so much variety!) but it was still wonderful on a rainy long weekend as the converted-barn swimming/ recreational area was fantastic. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone with a young family. We can't wait for our daughter to be old enough to enjoy all that Trevorrick farm has to offer.

Thank you for your lovely review. We do look forward to welcoming you back so your daughter can enjoy more of our facilities. Our animal feeding experience is particularly popular, (and very popular with adults too!), and our guests at the moment are enjoying bottle feeding our baby lambs. We are great for couples too, and the couple staying in the Round House this week gave me some welcome help with lamb feeding one evening. Melanie xxx

“A slice of heaven!”
Reviewed 25 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This is our third stay at Trevorrick Farm, we stayed first as a couple and the second two times as parents to young children. We have just returned from another wonderful week at Trevorrick Farm. The owners make us feel very welcome but are not intrusive. The location is idyllic, not too far down a lane which ends in a dead end and surrounded by rolling Cornish fields with wildlife aplenty. There is nothing but birdsong and the gentle noises from the wandering ducks and chickens owned by the owners. It's a pure escape from all the hustle and bustle of normal working life. There are views down the the tidal Little Petherick Creek which runs into the Camel Estuary. In fact the cottages are a very pleasant 45 minute ramble away from Padstow via the Camel Trail which is a bonus you can leave the car back at base. Though little ones would need a carry so we didn't attempt this with our two this time around.
The facilities are comfortable and clean. The beds are comfortable and the log burners and open fires in the cottages are just the cherry on top if the weather is chilly in the evening.
There is everything you could possibly want in the kitchen although we did take advantage of the family friendly dining pub just up the lane and within walking distance of the cottage.
We were lucky to see the farms residence Barn Owls leave their roost for a night of hunting too.
Melanie made our children so welcome, there were age appropriate toys in the cottage on arrival and if anything with the outdoor climbing frames, slides and playhouses along with ride ons and scooters, trampoline and swimming pool it was sometimes hard to get them to come away with us for a day trip out and about! We were there Easter week and Melanie did a special Easter egg hunt for our girls and even treated us adults to a box of chocolates too. We loved the swimming pool and the girls thought helping feed the pigs, turkeys, ducks, chickens, cuddling the rabbit and guinea pigs and helping groom the Shetland ponies was just wonderful. By the end of the week we didn't want to leave and neither did our girls.
The cottages are fully double glazed and were plenty warm enough for April. They are well decorated and although not always in the latest style we are very comfortable and find they are clean and fresh and well maintained. We look forward to returning with our girls. This place is perfect for younger children. We would definitely recommend.

“Three generations in a farm caravan - absolutely brilliant!”
Reviewed 16 January 2014 for a stay in October 2013

During the very windy and stormy half-term holiday we went with our son and four-year-old grand-daughter for six days at Trevorrick Farm. The 30ft caravan was warm and extremely well equipped, and all the other facilities were just as described on the website. There were other families with children staying too, so there was no shortage of playmates for our grand-daughter. The morning ritual led by Melanie was a long tour of playing and feeding the animals - guinea pigs, sheep, calves, pigs and poultry, including a chicken who thought she was a turkey.
The freedom of the farm meant the children were happily occupied all the time, even if we had not made forays to Bodmin for the cinema, Padstow for food and walks and the excellent Crealy Adventure Park.
The indoor swimming pool at the farm was warm and also served as the free video library for all. Even in the bad weather the laundry room met all our needs.
We cannot rate Trevorrick higher; nothing was too much trouble for Melanie and her husband and we will certainly be booking again, especially as the wi-fi is promised to be better soon!
