Fabulous harbour for chilling and relaxing. Lots of restaurants to eat and fab pubs to enjoy a pint or cocktail. There is a musician playing most nights outside too so that makes it special when sitting and enjoying the ambiance.

Padstow harbour is a little gem of a place. Lots of wonderful little shops, plenty of cafes and bars. There was a band playing when we were there and they were very good. I found myself singing along to Norwegian Wood. A blast from the past. It's a great place to sit and people watch, though it was mainly dog watch. Never seen so many dogs. We caught the ferry over to Rock. Very cheap. £4 for a return trip.

Is there anyone who doesn't know that Padstow ( or 'Padstein' as it is often called!) is tourist town? Since Rick Stein started opening excellent restaurants, the number of visitors has grown exponentially. Expect it to be rammed at most times of the year.
Parking near the harbour, whilst extensive, fills up early during the day and the area is then clogged with vehicles trying to find somewhere to park. Get in early or late afternoon for a chance to park near the water (£8 for 24 hours, strictly enforced!)
There is a 'park and ride' as you come into the town, well worth considering at peak times.
It would take weeks to eat your way around the dozens of restaurants but you will still need to book months in advance at the 'big name' ones.
Enjoy!

This is a lovely place to walk around on a summer’s day and you can also get a ferry across to Rock. There is a lovely walk along the sea too.

...but what’s it like on a mid August weekend? Moored here for two nights and really enjoyed the busy atmosphere and the restaurants and cafes. Can’t imagine what it’s like in high season though.
