“Coswarth House for an Easter break -just perfect.”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Escape to relax and feel thoroughly spoilt , Coswarth House is the place to go to. Fabulous location with fabulous rooms. We stayed in the Veranda room and it was very comfy. The bed and sheets were beautiful along with the under floor heating in the bathroom it all made our stay very enjoyable. We were greeted by the manager who made sure that our 4 night stay was a memorable one . I couldn't fault anything about our visit it was just perfect with everything you needed to make you unwind and relax and soak up the peaceful and tasteful decor . We will certainly return. Many thanks .

We are so pleased you like Veranda room. Now it has the extra space associated with the ante-room, it is proving very popular. Thank you for your kind words and should you choos, we'd love tosee you again here at Coswarth House. Best wishes from all of us here at Coswarth House.

My husband and I returned to Coswarth at the beginning of the month, for a weekend away in lovely Padstow! We were greeted once again with bubbles and fudge which were superb! Both the owner and manager of the hotel were incredibly welcoming and it was lovely to catch up! My husband and I couldn't wait for a nice rest in the Estuary room looking out over at the great views of the Estuary. The bed was incredibly comfortable and It was lovely and peaceful in the harbour itself, hence the visit in December. We have already booked for the early Autumn and Cannot wait to return, a superb stay!

Whether you are visiting one of the World's capital cities or a Cornish fishing village you want to stay right at the heart of things and yet just a few steps away from the hustle and bustle. Coswarth House is perched just above the Estuary with fantastic views of the water and coastline beyond at Padstow yet is only a couple of minutes away from Rick Stein's famous restaurant and deli. The moment you step through the wrought iron gate and see the covered verandah that stretches the entire length of this large Georgian house you know you have found somewhere a little bit special. My wife and I wanted our own space for our four day break and so chose the Verandah and Estuary suites. My Verandah suite was on the ground floor overlooking a pretty walled garden. It had its own tiny sitting room and luxurious bedroom with antique chairs and table set in front of a floor to ceiling Georgian window. The bathroom looked to be straight out of an interior's magazine. Everywhere were gentle restful colours, a fantastic back drop to enjoying a glass of wine or cup of espresso overlooking the garden or on the verandah. Things like the beautifully comfortable bed with the kind of soft pillows that only people who care about their guest's comfort would provide are important but it is the extra little touches like the champagne, home made flapjacks and fudge that we will probably remember when we review our best holidays of the year on New Year's Eve. My wife's suite on the first floor with a private bathroom just down the hall had views over the Estuary from both bedroom and bathroom about which one can only use the cliché breathtaking. Whether you are staying one night or several in the delightful little town of Padstow I don't think you will find better accommodation for the money than at Coswarth House.

This is one of the nicest reviews we have had and it makes all the hard work feel worthwhile. We are continually updating the rooms and the addition of the small lounge in the Veranda room was something that we hoped would increase its appeal...and it looks like the strategy succeeded! It is also nice when guests really appreciate the splendour of the architecture itself and enjoy the garden and the tranquillity of sitting outside enjoying a drink under the wrought iron veranda. Thank you so much for this review...and it goes without saying that we'd love to welcome you back at some point in the future. With our very best wishes...the staff at Coswarth House.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying an October break in the Estuary room. I had seen the photographs but nothing prepared me for the perfection of this place. The most comfortable bed, champagne on arrival, fabulous toiletries, beautiful soft robes and the good tea and coffee, etc which were freely available. So peaceful it was hard to tear myself away from the room to enjoy the delights of Rick Stein's breakfast. A huge thank you to all at Coswarth House for a wonderful stay. We will be back!

Room Tip: Estuary has the best views but Verandah is on the ground floor overlooking the beautiful garden.

We really appreciate a review like this...it is very nice to get feedback at any time but particularly nice at the end of a long season. We are so glad that you like Estuary Room as this has been recently refurbished and the style is very different to that of the other rooms. We very much look forward to seeing you again in the future. Best wishes from all of us involved with looking after Coswarth House.

My wife & I stayed for a couple of nights in August in the Estuary room. It was a beautiful room with stunning views, and if you add in the period furniture, comfy bed, Champagne on arrival home made fudge and flapjacks and fantastic breakfasts at Rick Stein's cafe, it all made for a magical stay. I recommend having a piping hot bath in the lovely Victorian roll top bath whilst looking out over the Estuary watching the world go by.

We are very please that you enjoyed your stay in the recently refurbished Estuary room. It is our most expensive room but this reflects the investment! Since your visit we have also upgraded the TV to a new Sony internet LED model. We always appreciate feedback...especially when it is positive! Thanks again for taking the time to provide your feedback. Needless to say, we would be delighted to welcome you back should you decide to return to Padstow at some point in the future. Warm wishes from all of us here at Coswarth.

Really enjoyed our break staying in the "almost perfect" Estuary Room at Coswarth House !
A warm welcome from Clint, with a glass of "fizz" to unwind after our journey got us off to a great start !
Beautiful room with superb views. Excellent tea / coffee tray with Flapjacks. Fudge by the bedside each evening was a nice touch. Extremely comfy bed ( although not a King ), and the Victorian bath strategically placed in front of a gorgeous view in the bathroom provided a wonderful way to relax. Have to criticise the small shower, but can understand the difficulty in making any improvements whilst maintaining the character of the bathroom itself.
Breakfast at Rick Stein's Cafe was superb, and the short walk there was a great way to start the day.
Would certainly recommend Coswarth House........it's almost perfect !

Room Tip: The Estuary Room was bright, cheerful and a good size. Bathroom not ensuite, however not a problem...

Thank you for the great review. We are looking into increasing the bed size...we do understand that many people prefer larger beds. Our challenge is to find period furniture that is of the right quality as well as being the right size...so we may end up buying a couple of reproduction pieces. All feedback is gratefully received but great feedback is even more gratefully received...so thank you for taking the time to write this review! Best wishes from everyone here at Coswarth.

We enjoyed our break at Coswarth House.
We used it as a base for walking some sections of the S,W. Coastal path. After a hard day walking, it was great to come back to a comfortable environment. We loved the breakfast at Rick Stein's cafe which gave us a good start to the day. The location of the property is ideal, close to the centre of Padstow but out of busy tourist area.

Thank you for writing this review...it is good to hear from the 'walking fraternity' as we have a large number of guests who are undertaking the coastal walk. It is also nice to hear form guests who like the fact that we are slightly away from all the hustle and bustle of the centre of town...this is particularly beneficial in the peak season where both walking and driving can be a challenge! We hope to see you again at some point. Best wishes from all here at Coswarth.
