Stoney Nook met all of our holiday needs, great location for Padstow and Wadebridge... easy to get to all the beaches from Constantine Bay (love here!) all they way down to Watergate Gate bay.
The property is secluded, very well appointed with lots of nice touches such as a shed full of things to take to the beach, cricket bat, boules, body boards and wind-breaks. Inside lots of puzzles and games, and with a 1983 edition of Trivial pursuit which meant the adults could beat the kids!!
Kitchen great, bathrooms superb.. loved the feel of this house.
I wished the Journeyman Inn was a pub too.... great food but no bar.
A spacious house set in quiet rural location but within easy reach of lovely beaches and road network. House was very comfortable, clean and a little quirky but equipped with absolutely everything for a home from home holiday. Loads of extras included. Great information pack really useful when we needed the emergency vet. A good base for a lovely holiday.
Stoney Nook has a very good location close to magnificent North Cornish beaches and coastal walks. Lots of other interesting places to visit including the Eden Project and several National Trust properties. All ideal for 6 adults and one dog!
The cottage was very well equipped throughout for our stay even down to providing beach chairs, wind breaks, games and puzzles. We really appreciated David's up to date and down to earth guides to local beaches, restaurants, pubs and things to do.
Despite the variable weather (we are used to Cornish weather), staying at Stoney Nook meant we had an excellent time.
We hope to visit again!
As the title suggests, at Stoney Nook you will have everything provided to make your stay comfortable, enjoyable, and homely, without being over personalised by the owners.
Its situation is idilic, tucked away just outside St Issey, a very friendly little place, a stones throw from Wadebridge, and Padstow, and only a 20/30 minute drive to the comparative hustle and bustle of Newquay.
The house itself is a delightful blend of contemporary, and farmhouse style decor, the bathrooms are fab, and the bedrooms bright, airy and immaculate.
The living room follows that restful theme with contemporary furnishings, and a wonderful open fire place with wood burner, perfect for relaxing in after a full day out with your delightfuly behaved children.
The garden and patio areas are quite lovely, with a controlled rambling array of flora, and what my youngest Izzy described as the butterfly garden at the front of the property.
Dave and Sharron have gone to great lengths to ensure everything is provided for you to make the most of your stay, from the smallest kitchen utensil, to bodyboards, to probably THE most extensive guide to the surrounding beaches and attractions you could wish to have.
You'll be sad to leave Stoney Nook, we were, and If those numbers roll in one Saturday, Friday, Wednesday, whenever, then Dave and Sharron can expect an offer on the cottage shortly after.
So thanks Dave and Sharron, we had a lovely holiday at Stoney Nook.
We had a wonderful stay at Stoney Nook the house exceeded our expectations. My husband and my 90 year old father just loved it there. As it was raniy at times we found ourselves enjoying coming back to the cottage as it was so cosey.
The only con I can say is that there was musty smell on the linens along with a strong smell of fabric softener which I was allergic to. Maybe that issue can be looked into. But I'm sure housekeeping can take care of that.
However, I have raved to all my friends and family about the cottage and would recommend them to stay there if they decide to take a trip to Cornwall.
Overall was an excellent stay.
