We have visited this weekend as part of a large group..... Very impressed..... Lovely pitch, great grass under feet, bins around the site emptied regularly, toilets were very clean and lovely hot shower facilities never had to wait, dish washing areas were plenty and clean with amazing hot water..... Best of all was the ease of access into the park.....we've already researched to go back again in the summer holidays..... Highly recommended.....

Friendly staff at reception, shown to our pitch which was lovely and roomy on a slight slope ( not enough to cause a problem). Toilet and shower facilities were large and very clean with lots of space to get changed. Games room above shower block with a tv. Quiet site very family friendly. Shop was well stocked and the unlimited access to the theme park was fantastic for ALL ages. Highly recommend we will be back.

Went here for 3 nights while Dartmouth Regatta was on with our 2 children aged 3 and 6. It was our first family camping trip and it was excellent. Every member of staff we had contact with were helpful and friendly. The site was immaculate and the atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely be returning this year, especially since finding out the prices have been frozen again!

Dear Erika S,
Thank you for reviewing Woodlands and we are so glad you had a great holiday. Our staff work very hard to make sure the site is clean and very welcoming. Our prices have now been held since 2011. It is great value and with the free entry to Woodlands Theme Park you won’t need to leave. We look forward to seeing you soon for another holiday at Woodlands Grove.

Well my husband and I thought we would be brave and attempt our very first camping trip with our two children, one 4 year old and one 22 month old. Needless to say I was slightly anxious about the whole expedition (this is what it felt like we were going on when packing!) but when we arrived at Woodlands my thoughts that this was going to be a stressful experience diminished. Had a really easy check in at reception and given a lot of detail about the local area which we took great advantage of....take a trip to Beesands to visit Britannia@Beesands, great for seafood but be warned you need to book. Anyway back to Woodlands, after checking in at reception we were greeted by a lovely warden who showed us to our pitch, being very observant he noticed we had small children and offered us a pitch near to facilities. It was quiet so therefore I imagine this was easier than on their hectic days but it was a little thing like this that really made us feel welcome. He then followed this with setting up the electric lead for us as we didn't think ours was going to reach the point. What a great warden and I only wish I had took his name to pass on our thanks.

The facilities we were close to were great. It was basically a load of separate cubicles with a shower and toilet in. All kept really clean considering kids are going in and out of there all day. Down the hill (yes we were on a slope but nothing too much that it bothered us) was a baby changing room which had a bath. Didn't need it in the end as just stripped wash my little one in the sink in the toilets which worked fine but it was good to know it was there. Park was fantastic for our little ones, plenty for them to do with a variety of rides and climbing equipment. Food available if you needed and not at over inflated prices as you often find in parks. It was nice that we were able to pop back for lunch to our tent and enjoy a spot of camping cooking and then head back to the park and start all over again.
So to sum it up if you are looking for a great family camping site with good clean facilities and a theme park thrown in then you will really enjoy Woodlands. Thank you to all at Woodlands for giving us a great introduction to camping and we look forward to seeing you soon....we have now caught the camping bug!

Dear Drama2014
Thank you so much for such a wonderful and detailed review of our park. It means a lot to us to hear that you have had a great holiday. Our staff work very hard to make sure that everyone’s holiday is one they will treasure forever. Beesands is a beautiful place and is well deserved of a mention. We will make sure your review is seen by all our wardens. We are glad you found the baths and family bathrooms even though you managed in the sink  Thank you again and we are glad you have now caught the camping bug. We hope to see you soon. Remember you are able to do provisional bookings for next year now.

All the staff are so friendly specially the wardens. the park was an extra bonus and we had so much fun on the slides, never to old to be a kid!!! it was lovely also seeing all the kids and family having such a good time. the ice creams sold was taste. the general stores is very handy. the reception staff are friendly, I was impressed with the services provided. I forgot my phone charger and the charge was 50p to charge for as long as needed. I cant comment on the food/restaurant facilities as we did not use. I cant wait to return again. thank you for a great stay.

Dear appledumplin,
Thank you for taking the time to review your holiday with us. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope you went home with lots of lovely memories. I can certainly agree the ice creams are so yummy. One of the best things with the Theme Park is the adults can enjoy the fun too so you can all be kids. Reception will always do their best to help with anything they can to make sure your holiday is perfect. We look forward to welcoming you back to Woodlands shortly. We visited as part of a rally. We were therefore on the rally fields which were clean and tidy and had electric water and rubbish points. The cost was something rediculous like £23 a night. It cost us less for 2 nights then visiting for the day
The facilities on the campsite were all clean and in good repair. The main shower block had great private bath and shower rooms, these were very popular and you need to get there early.
The theme park is a long but manageable walk, even with a buggy and young kids in tow.
There is a dog walking area.
The theme park itself is fabulous with something for all ages - my kids range from 1 - 10 and they all loved different bits.
The petting zoos lovely. The rides are a range of scariness for a wide range of ages. Even my 18 month old was able to go on some (although she's very talk for her age ). We wanted to stay for more nights the kids loved it so much

Dear Lukesmum,
Thank you for taking the time to review our campsite. We have to agree our rally rates are great value for money. We are so glad you’re 18 month old got to experience the rides too. We agree the zoo-farm is fantastic. Next time you will have to experience the Falconry Centre and the displays which are also included in the campsite. We hope you get to come back and stay again soon.

We booked for three nights early May bank holiday, The price was reasonable at £13;50 a night, £3 for Electric Hook Up and £2.75 per night for our dog. We left home with what we thought was plenty of time to get to Woodlands, but after getting stuck in bank holiday traffic, we arrived around 10pm. We went to reception to be told that no Wardens were available to show us to our pitch and we would have to park up in the arrivals bay for the night and sleep there. There was electric available, but it was not very welcoming to be told to effectively sleep in the car park for the night, We felt quite uneasy in the morning waking up and being stuck in arrivals in my PJs with many people passing by. This should be made clear when booking so people can plan there journeys accordingly. It was frustrating not to be able to get to our pitch, I appreciate it is a family site and people do not need to be disturbed, but vehicles were still allowed to come and go, and were, even after we had arrived! Other than that we had a trouble free and pleasant stay, the facilities were very good, toilets clean, showers good, shop well stocked. The Wardens were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Arrive early to prevent a car park stay!

Dear LinzR1980, Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your visit. The wardens site arrivals up to 10.00pm which is much later than most caravan parks who stop siting at 8 or 9 pm at night. It was nearly 10.30pm when you arrived but you were able to access the caravan park (not the car park) despite it being nearly 10.30pm and an electric hook up with the promise of siting you first thing in the morning. The Receptionist who stayed late checked you in and issued you with your passes and guide to the caravan park so that you were ready to be sited first thing in the morning. The reason we finish siting at 10pm is that after that time it is too late to set up camp as it would disturb other families trying to get to sleep.
