Found this hidden tea room by chance due to rain soaked Monday morning in Honiton. Ducking into the passageway we stumbled on to this charming little tea room tucked away far from the rain soaked High Street.
The service was swift, food was filling, staff were on the ball.

Tucked away off the Honiton High Street are the Vine Tea Rooms attached to the Vine Pub. We visited for a lunchtime snack on a bright sunny day, so were happy to sit in the garden. Here we were free from traffic noise or the hustle and bustle of the busy town centre 50 yards away.

The sandwiches we enjoyed were made to order and were substantial and well presented. The pot of tea for two was enough for us and more. Staff were friendly and quick to serve us. The outside tables are there to provide a facility for smokers, but happily we ate our lunch without such company.

The surrounding walls are fitted with many nests so at the right time of year there will be a lot of interesting activity when the nests are in use. The garden is well tended and alive with pretty flowers.

It is not obvious as it is down a little alley but has a lovely little garden area if you want to sit outside. The staff were not over-friendly but not unfriendly either so nothing to complain about. The food was very nice, as was the beer. The menu was not large but there was a nice selection of the basics and a board with specials.

Made very welcome ,service was quick and gods selection of food available. Only a few tables which made for a very nice atmosphere although because the room was small not a lot of room. it would appear that many people like this cafe in short time many people went in and out.
ou were not made to feel that you had to eat or drink up and go quickly.
