We arrived for our two night stay quite early, however this wasn’t seen to be a problem and our room was ready for us within 15 minutes of arrival. The only way to describe first impressions of Lakeview Manor is...Stunning. The gardens, lakes and hotel are just beautiful.
Our room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable it was an effort to get up for breakfast! We’re pleased we did as it was a good spread and cooked to order. Delicious.
Our son and family arrived at lunch time, checked into their room and we all sat in the garden for a quick lunch before setting off to the wedding. The food was very nice and plentiful.
We returned after the wedding for the reception, the room it was held in was stunning, perfectly set out . The food was tasty and served by wonderful staff, nothing was too much trouble, everything ran so smoothly, this hotel can certainly pull out all the stops and it appears to be done effortlessly and efficiently.
We can recommend this hotel, down winding country lanes close to Honiton for whatever type of visit you wish to make.
Congratulations to all of the staff you are a credit to the owners, nothing is too much trouble, warm and welcoming, happy atmosphere... Thank you for making our stay and Grandson’s wedding so memorable.

Needing somewhere to stay in the Honiton area at short notice over the August Bank Holiday, we really were not expecting very much of Lakeview Manor - especially at a mere £84 per night, including breakfast, for the two of us. However, what we discovered was a rare gem.

Arriving at around ten on the Saturday night, there was a wedding in full swing, at which point most would expect a somewhat sleepless night, but not here, the annexe where our room - 25 - was located is well out of earshot of the main building, we heard nothing at all.

The room was simple and modern, spacious enough with a decent size wardrobe. Ideally the (Netflix equipped) TV could have been a little larger, but we weren't here to watch TV anyway! The en-suite with a double sized shower was spotless and practically laid out.

Ours was a double room, the beds were very comfortable, only a green glow from the emergency light over the door may disturb some, but we slept soundly at Lakeview Manor - an unusually occurrence away from home in my case.

A 50 minute walk in the grounds before breakfast, even in the drizzle, was a great experience, three lakes, woods and streams create an environment second to none, making this a particularly desireable wedding venue - a photographer's delight indeed.

Breakfast was of the highest quality, a self-serve continental spread beiing a starter to the main (cooked) menu, proving an ideal way to start the day. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg was superb, the best scrambled egg that I have been served in the UK probably. My wife equally enjoyed the pancakes, on the second morning I had the full fried, I forgot to ask where they get such meaty saussages from!

The lunch menu is simple, but extraordinary value and it proved to be a meal that topped off our stay nicely, eight of us, plus a two year old were catered for admirably, and the bill, including a few, mostly non-alcoholic, drinks came to less than £140.

Of the many places that I have stayed in the UK over the last 20 years, this one proved to be by a long way the best value and had the finest setting. That the basic hotel functions are so expertly taken care of makes this an unexpectedly good all-round experience.

Room Tip: Quietest rooms are 21 - 25 in the annexe building at the side.

We stayed for one night as part of a cycling trip. We arrived late and soaked but the duty manager couldn't have been more helpful and stowed our bikes away safely. The room was good, and much better than a cycling trip deserves, but we were disappointed by the breakfast. It was probably fine if you want a cooked breakfast but otherwise the assumption seems to be that people only want sugary Kellogg's cereals - perhaps everyone else does (certainly other reviewers seemed happy with such stuff), but other hotels do breakfast much better.

If you're thinking of holding your wedding reception at this hotel then it would certainly be worth a look, if only because it's so secluded and the smart grounds would really lend themselves to a big family occasion.

My husband and I had a lovely 1 night stay in as we travelled all the way from London for our skydive experience the next day after. The staff seemed extremely friendly, food was fresh and delicious, high level of cleanliness. Great experience, we’ve definitely enjoyed it!
