“Fantastic food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013 via mobile

Stayed overnight last night - had beautiful 4 poster bed and large bedroom and bathroom and so quiet. Had evening meal one steak and one fisher mans pie and both really well presented and so tasty. Great full breakfast this morning. Only one thing was the bathroom door could do with oiling as every time one of us used the bathroom it sounded like an old creepy coffin opening! Would still recommend a stay here.

A peaceful place to stay. Very friendly service, courteous , professional. The room was spotless and a good size very comfortable bed lovely hot shower. Meals were good and served in a very friendly manner. Would certainly go back. Do not take any notice if their website says booked ring

Room Tip: I think most rooms are the same

We were in a room with a four poster bed which was very comfortable and clean. It was also good to have easy chairs to relax in. Pub meals were good and tasty. It was a little unusual to find this place with-in a modern housing estate but it all worked well.

i stopped here for one night on a business trip the room was very large with a large bed the bedding was clean and fresh the bath room was new and well set out but The room was very dated and hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. The walls were a drab shade of blue, the artwork on the walls was depressing the layout was not good with the TV in front of the wardrode every thing above 5 ft from the floor was covered in dust the wall lamps ect.
The food was okay but breakfast was very good the whole place just needs a good clean and a bit of up dating ,
No wifi

We arrived at the Heathfield Inn having read the reviews on here and thinking we knew what to expect. Sadly we were wrong. We arrived in the afternoon to find the pub closed. We made our way to the Hotel Reception to find a dust and cobweb covered door which was also locked. Despite repeated knocking there was no reply and so we had to resort to the dusty sign saying if no reply then ring a mobile number.

We finally got hold of the owner and got access to the hotel and were shown to our four poster room. On the way we passed by the dead plants in the hall in the obviously empty hotel despite the owner saying when we booked that he only had one room left as the rest were full. The room itself was dark, dusty and smelled of must and mildew. The en suite looked grubby and neither of us thought we would be able to sleep there and so made or excuses to the owner and left.

This hotel gets a better review on here than it deserves. We refused to stay and I bet we weren't the first and won't be the last.

We stayed for just one night in room 2. The room was spacious clean and comfortable and the bathroom has both a bath and a shower. Excellent pub food , beer and breakfast. The owners and staff were all very friendly and we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Heathfield as it perfectly met our geographical requirements to meet some friends. The room 5 was perfectly functional. The 4 poster bed was rather strange in design with the wooden 'roof' looming large over the deep base. It was reasonably comfortable and met our needs. The bathroom had been modernised and apart from a black damp patch on the shower wall, was very clean. This was probably just as result of ventilation difficulties and a fan does activate with the light switch. A range of toiletries, tea and coffee and kettle have been provided for guests' comfort and convenience. We had an evening meal with our friends that was satisfactory, enjoyable and value for money and service was prompt and friendly. Breakfast was very good and we were literally asked what we wanted and given exactly what we asked for. Overall the hotel was perfectly adequate and value for money , it just feels a little 'tired'. Rating this as average would seem unfair as there is nothing wrong, if there was a 'good' rating I would give it that , so I am going for 'very good' as we enjoyed our stayed and would return if we visited this area again.
