Owner description: The South Devon Chilli Farm is set in the wonderful South Hams district of South Devon overlooking stunning views. We grow over 100 types of chilli and there is a free-to-visit display in the Summer. The site has a farm shop and cafe selling the products we produce from the chillies we grow on the farm. All the products can be tried in the shop and are served with the meals in the cafe. During the Spring and Summer, we sell a wide range of chilli plants. We also have seeds and chilli-growing equipment. We have a lot of gift ideals that are ideal to take home. Just 5 miles South of the A38.

This is one of our regular haunts as we are lucky enough to live close by. There is an excellent cafe where you can have a cup of chilli hot chocolate if you are feeling adventurous, or tea or coffee if you are not. The lunch menu offers a choice of tasty and interesting food, or you could opt for a chilli cream tea!
There is a well-stocked shop where you can sample their amazing chilli chocolate, chilli jam and a huge variety of chutneys and sauces.
Whatever else you do, you must visit the polytunnel to see the varieties of chillies growing. You will be amazed at the different colours, sizes and shapes!

We were so pleased to be stopping not too far away from this attraction recently, a place we had heard about, and tried their products.
A good little shop, a fab cafe and great to visit the garden centre part housing all the fab plants!
Signs everywhere explaining all the different chillis, a good experience and lots to try and buy.
We left with lots of plants, chocolate and sauces for gifts :-)

We only went to see what the farm was all about and, came away with saying we should have been before. We did not eat there but the cafe & menu looked good. The poly tunnels were the chillies where growing looked great. Lots of varieties to choose from. In the summer I think it would be a great place to go. It looked as though there was a out door area to eat & things todo for the kids. We will certainly will go back & have something to eat & buy a chilli.

My interest in chillis has normally been limited to eating them in various international dishes, so I was a little sceptical about visiting the farm.

It was surprisingly enjoyable, with a polytunnel growing a 100 different varieties, which was both interesting and informative. There's a small nursery where you can buy chilli plants at what seemed reasonable prices.

We then had a meal at the cafe, which serves fairly standard farm shop food, except with a twist - i.e. it has a chilli component to each of the choices, which were surprisingly effective.

Overall we spent two hours here, and would recommend it as an excellent place to pass the time on a wet or dreary day.
