We stopped off here with our dogs on the way back from a walk and I am so glad we did! The owner was so friendly and welcoming from the moment we entered. The local ciders and beers were delicious and the food far exceeded what we had expected!! Very reasonable prices for the quality too. Stunning restaurant with log fires going.

Had a stunning steak, blue cheese sauce was very good. Wife had a very good red pepper soup, the nippers fish and chips were very good too.

Perfect pub food on the moors, ideal after a walk with the dog. They are dog friendly too. And nice ales.

We have eaten at the Kestor several times over the last few months as we are fairly local. I had heard good things about the food so went to see for ourselves and we haven’t been disappointed!
Super lovely food, warm welcome, dog and children friendly and log burners what more can you want. I would recommend the slow cooked pork, the fish and chips and the chorizo chicken. The puddings are home made and delicious

We got a takeaway from this pub, which had to be booked in advance (earlier that day), so they knew when to have it ready.

Fish and chips, and roast pork belly.

Takeaway was well packaged up for us and was hot. Good portions especially the pork belly which had loads of tender meat + various veg + mash + gravy. Fish was good but had a little too much batter. Chips nice.

Not expensive and seemed popular with tourists + locals which is always a good sign. Beer garden ( we didn't use it) has trestle tables and is secluded from road by big hedges.
