“A little bit of paradise!”
Reviewed 30 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The perfect place to unwind. Great location for access to many wonderful walks with a lovely garden in which to sit and relax. Carol and Andrew were perfect hosts, near enough to help whenever needed while at the same time being respectful of our privacy. The Lodge is beautifully appointed, comfy sofas, everything you need in the kitchen and the most comfortable bed to ensure a good night's sleep. The welcome we received could not have been better. Milk, tea and coffee in the kitchen on arrival was very welcome.
We are already planning a return visit.
Thank you Carol and Andrew for taking the care and thought to provide such a wonderful home from home in a beautiful part of the country.

“Perfect”

Our stay in the Forge exceeded our expectations as we were looking for a quiet retreat to recharge our batteries. There are many things to do and see in this idyllic location and we felt as if we were miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Forge was well presented, equipped and tastefully decorated, with everything one could possibly need for their stay. We didn't want to leave the lovely sanctuary provided by our welcoming hosts, Carol and Andrew.

“a peaceful place for a wonderful holiday”
Reviewed 15 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The cottage is just beautiful and very well dressed. Everything is in the kichen and the leaving room is very nice. Carol and Andrew, the owners, are two lovely persons, always ready to help, but extremely reserved. Our stay there was just perfect.

The Forge is a Very beautiful, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a quiet village. It was lovely and warm, clean and well kept.

.My husband and I favour self-catering accommodation when we're away for more than a few days, so we have stayed in quite a few cottages / apartments over the years.

The Forge at Bedford Cottage is easily amongst the best. It is incredibly spacious for two people, with a huge living / dining area and generously proportioned bathroom (with bath plus shower). The kitchen is fully equipped and the decor throughout is very tasteful .It is a very attractive place to stay. The bed was very comfortable.

I was travelling on my own this time to visit my sister in nearby Crapstone but was so pleased I chose this beautiful place.

It is in a great location close to Dartmoor National Park and the coasts of Devon and Cornwall. There is lots to see and do and if you love the outdoors this is a great spot to explore from.

Andrew and Carole were excellent hosts so friendly, welcoming and such a lovely couple. Nothing was too much trouble.
I hope to see them again and their adorable black Labrador in the future.

I will definitely stay here again when I return to see my sister.

“Another lovely relaxing and comfortable break”
Reviewed 10 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Our fourth visit to Bedford Cottage, and it was as excellent as ever. Lovely, comfortable cottages, very friendly and helpful hosts, a good local pub, and so many wonderful places to visit and things to do in the surrounding area. We'll be back as soon as possible.

“Lovely cottage for two”
Reviewed 4 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

This is the second time we have stayed at Bedford Cottage, our first stay being at the Lodge, and this time at the Forge. The Forge is a delightful cottage with all the comforts we required to make our stay enjoyable. Andrew and Carol are lovely hosts and keep both the Lodge and the Forge immaculate. As keen walkers, there are some excellent walks from the doorstep of the Cottage both on moorland and by the riverside. We will be back.
