Stayed with friends at St Andrew's House - one of the few B&B in town accepting bookings for one night. My husband and I, another couple of friends stayed two nights and another couple of friends just one night.
We all had comfortable rooms - the two doubles had sea views and large bay windows, one had a sofa and the other one not, comfortable beds, nice linen, fresh smelling towels in the ensuite rooms. The other room which was a twin room had a small sofa, no sea view and ensuite bath without shower. All at TV, tea/coffee making facilities.
Breakfast had to be chosen on arrival or at breakfast time for the following morning - I don't really enjoy doing that but if it helps with the running of the B&B why not. There was choice of cereals, yogurts, stewed prunes and grapefruit segments as well as orange or grapefruit juices. This was always available. You could also order a cooked breakfast, the usual bacon, eggs (poached, fried or scrambled), sausages (with vegetarian option), toast, tea/coffee as much as you wanted. If you have the "full house" you end up with a platter large enough for two!
There is a swimming pool at the house - not in use when we went as the weather has not been great.
The house is at the top of the hill overlooking Lyme Regis - a quick walk down to the sea front but a lot harder to get back - you could always get a taxi or bus back up. There are also spaces for cars which in Lyme makes it special.
The B&B owners are very friendly if a little excentric. The lady collects elephants and they are everywhere and the husband collect pigs.
