“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2012

Warm, comfortable and welcoming with a great breakfast. The guest lounge has a substantial library of guides, maps and books about the area. Despite being on the main road, our room at the back was very quiet.

Sue and Phil are excellent hosts, with lots of local knowledge.

We've just returned from a 3 night stay here for my birthday. The room was very clean with a well proportioned en suite shower room. We were on the front which had a sea view, the road was noisy during the day but didn't matter as we were out all the time. It was very quiet at night.
The breakfasts are cooked to order using good quality ingredients, with plenty of toast and homemade jams. Sue is very helpful and good at giving advice on walks and other information. All in all we had a very relaxing and pleasant stay.

We have stayed at the Albany several times, and it is always excellent value. There is always a warm welcome from Sue, Phil and the bantams (sounds like a 60s pop group!). The rooms are always spotlessly clean, and the cooked breakfasts are always excellent.
The Albany is in a very good location, with car parking, about five minutes walk from the sea front (longer if you want to go to The Cobb), with sea views from some rooms.
Sue and Phil have lots of local knowledge, backed up with maps and guides that they are happy to loan to guests.

I stayed at the Albany Guest House in Lyme Regis in November 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed my time at this B&B.

Before booking I had contacted Sue to check the guest house would be open during November. The response back was quick and informative adding in details about the local area.

On arrival we were greeted by Sue who showed us round the guest house including the guest sitting room which was full of books on the local area. The room was a good size - double bed and a single (even though there was only two of us), two chairs, chest of drawers, small wardrobe, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite with small dressing table and chair. It was clean and tidy with an excellent view over Lyme Bay.

Breakfast was excellent - cereals available, toast, excellent jams! and tailored cooked breakfast to how we liked it.

Would definitely stay here again.

We've stayed twice with Sue and Phil and would highly recommend it. We arrived early on both occassions and received a very warm welcome from Sue - whilst the rooms were not ready as we were early, we were given the key and shown around. Plenty of parking and the rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Breakfasts are cooked to order by Phil and delicious - veggie option available. I loved the fresh fruit salad and yoghurt. The B&B is situated not too far up the hill on the Charmouth Road which after a long day of fossiling is a welcome relief!!

We were looking for an extra night's stay en-route to home from our holiday, and, having made several unsuccessful phone calls to various b&b's saw a 'vacancies' sign and called in. We were very glad we did - Sue welcomed us, the room was really clean and nice, with a sea view, near to town, and breakfast next morning was superb - fresh fruit, cereals, toast and preserves, and a cooked breakfast with locally sourced (and really good) sausage bacon and eggs. Mind you don't run the chickens over when you drive in to the car park! Couldn't fault it.
