Visited the Millside whilst on holiday and looking for somewhere special to eat out for our anniversary.

A quiet evening, but a single waitress offered perfect service and made us feel very welcome.

Food was excellent- crab claws to start, fish from the specials for the main course while my partner had the Lobster linguine. Very well cooked and good portions. Chocolate and Amaretto tart with ice cream for dessert finished a lovely meal off well.

We went to a number of restaurants in Lyme Regis and this was definitely the cream of the crop.

We visit when we can to this delightful restuarant hidden away beside a little river amongst an array of little venues, the cheesemonger, restuarants, working mill, local beer making, art galleries, couture needlecraft, etc.
The millside run by a young couple, one front of house and other busy in the kitchen delights one on all levels, with the friendly cheerful, knowledgeable front of house to the delights on offer from the kitchen.Recently we came for Valentines night where a set meal was on offer and was absolutely fantastic.Richards thoroughly enjoyed his smoked pork which they had been busy smoking here in the kitchen, ready for the night. My fish was as delicious as always. Canapes, fizz, light and tasty starters, palate cleanser of a gorgous fragrant sorbet, the fab smoked pork which was chosen amongst the wide range of choices on offer throughout the meal, unctious puds, in which we emmersed ourselves in, and cider which was always topped up when Richard looked at the staff as was my glasses of fizz and desert wine when needed. Coffee followed in a cafeteire, which is always preferable to a cup. Really lovely night. Cannot wait til our next visit. Many thanks for such a wonderful evening.

Attended for lunch on the strength of the tripadvisor reviews and I was not disappointed. The service was friendly, excellent and not too overbearing. I over heard another customer wanting modifications to the menu and they were only too happy to accommodate. Good to see a "can do attitude" for a change.

To the food itself, I thought it was extremely good value. I opted for the fixed price lunch menu (2 courses - £12.50 and 3 courses £15). The beetroot soup garnished with creme fraiche and crispy leeks was simple but effective. My personal favourite was the pain au raisin, poached pear and custard. The custard was actually creme anglaise and wouldn't have been out of place in a michelin starred restaurant.

If your looking for simple food cooked exceptionally well in Lyme Regis then look no further.

This was a serendipity moment for our family group of four, on a crowded sunny winter's day, looking for lunch. We strayed into the back streets of Lyme, saw an outside table in the sun and just sat down. It could have been anything , although the specials board gave it away. The limited choice had to have been carefully planned and home cooked, and it all was. Good roast pork with crackling, excellent lobster pasta, and the best homemade creme brulees for years. Our bill for 2 courses (x4) with interesting non alcoholic drinks was less than £20.00 a head. We couldn't fault the service..very friendly.
No idea what it might be like at other times or seasons, but worth us going back to find out.

We had a super evening in this lovely restaurant, the food was delicious, well presented and good portion size, (not too big). The menu is imaginative and offers something different.
The service was very attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
