“Lovely Secluded Restaurant”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

I came across this restaurant whilst exploring Lyme Regis on a weekend break with my wife. It is situated behind the main street in a secluded courtyard and looked very peaceful welcoming in the early evening sunshine so we made a booking for later that night. We returned half an hour or so before our booking and chose to sit on the patio whilst sharing a bottle of wine and making our choices from the menu. The waitress was very helpful in explaining the choices and advised us that there may be a short wait as all the food is freshly prepared. Our food was very well presented, of an excellent quality and the staff were both friendly and courteous without being intrusive. You will certainly find cheaper restaurants in Lyme Regis however at £70 for three courses and wine, we thought it was good value. I will certainly make it my first choice if we return to the area.

“What a pleasure”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Some say that there are no affordable and good English restaurants with. Well the Millside has proven the opposite. You will find cheaper places of course but this restaurant was worth every pound.
It was a warm evening just perfect to sit on the small and very cosy terrace. It has a very friendly atmosphere and the staff are very knowledgeable about the menu and (not self-evident) about the wine. Both starter and main were delicious but my personal highlight was my dessert: A selection of local cheese (supplied from the local cheesemonger). I'm loving it..........

“Great wee find!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

Found this wee place tucked away off the main beachside drag and so glad we did. You'll definitely find cheaper but looking for somewhere with a very nice ambience, good service, great food and equally good wine selection then this ticked all the boxes. Turning up on a summer Thursday evening without a reservation to a busy restaurant is always a risk but we were welcomed and in my view got one of the best tables in the house! A roomy table for 2 by the window. This was a perfect end to our weeks holiday touring the coast, thank you.

Stumbled over this place and returned for lunch - so pleased we did; great food... mussels were lovely, super selection and all delicious. Really friendly staff, great wines and good prices.

“Expected more...”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

Friendly welcome, however main restaurant was full so were offered a seat near the kitchen/bar/entrance which was fine but it lacked atmosphere.
Food was ok but over priced for what it was.... generous portion sizes but lacked seasoning.
Good wine list though, lots of choice :)
