“Hearty Food and Service”
Reviewed 10 May 2014 via mobile

Been here before and never disappointed. Sat in a nice window seat with street and sea view. Dinner was excellent, a well cooked, not greasy Sausage(local Pork&Beef), Egg, Chips with added peas. Pot of tea for one v good value as hot water to top up. Service was friendly, quick and helpful.

“Unhelpful and impatient staff - Never again!”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

My partner, Son (who is 6 months) and I visited Lyme Regis with my parents for the day and chose this restaurant as it seemed a quiet place with room to put our pushchair.

The waitress was pleasant but everything seemed too much hassle for the manager. The food was average but not worth the money we paid for it. The manager cleaned away our plates before we were all finished and got frustrated when we asked for 5 more minutes to order after we had gone to change our son, which had to be done on a shelf in the toilet as there was no baby changing facilities.

After we had paid, needless to say a rather large sum of money, the manager then had the cheek to ask us to leave via the back door so we didn't disturb the other diners. To get to the 'back door', we had to negotiate 5 steps and 4 tables which were placed so close together that we had to push them apart to get the pram through. We were offered no help at all.

We received very poor customer service and definately won't be able there again. Not very child friendly.

“ALWAYS GOOD BUT!”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Always try to nip in here for a snack and a drink. Very nice staff and very nice venue. Nothing too much trouble and your not forgotten even if sitting outside. This time tried the breakfast and not disappointed but very predictable food. Food chain sausages and bacon. Nicely cooked and presented but and here it is why o why predictable. Surely local meats could be obtained to give a bit of flavour like others in the area sausages from, bread from, eggs from. So I will call in again and I will eat here again. Maybe one day the food purchasing will change from chain supplies to more local. Then this place quite easily and quickly would go up to five star all the way. Five star all the way and I pay that extra 50p because with the service, venue and view the rest is already done.

Breakfast was tasty and fairly good value. A good portion size. Nice view across the bay.
Good service and cosy on a cold morning.

“a very pleasant stop”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

Called in with some friends for coffee and teacakes and one of our group had an excellent hot chocolate, topped off with cream and lots of other colourful bits. It's a great location, and was pleasantly quiet which gave us the chance to enjoy the features within. Service was very good and we will try something more substantial when next in Lyme.
